One of the new additions toYellowjackets' cast of characters, Hannah Finch (Ashley Sutton), was one of the frog scientists that the teenage survivors encountered in the wilderness. Unbeknownst to the survivors, Hannah had a tape recording some of the horrors that she experienced before her death in the wilderness, including her partner, Edwin (Nelson Franklin), being murdered by teenage Lottie (Courtney Eaton).Shauna figures out that her stalker is Hannah’s daughter, who somehow has the tape, and now Shauna is set to confront her.

Is Shauna Going To Kill Hannah’s Daughter?

All Signs Point To Yes

Based on her history, the way she ditches her fellow survivors, and the knife in her possession,Shauna will likely try to kill Hannah’s daughter. Season 3, episode 7 refers to Shauna killing Adam Martin (Peter Gadiot) in season 1, even though it turned out he was innocent and not the one blackmailing the Yellowjackets. If Shauna was able to kill him, a man she had an intimate affair with, she should have no trouble killing Hannah’s daughter out of self-preservation.

Why Shauna Brings Out The Knife Sheath Melissa Gave Her In Yellowjackets Season 3, Episode 7’s Ending

There Is More Than One Meaning To It

Shauna not only has a knife with her, but she specifically has the knife sheath that Melissa (Jenna Burgess) is seen giving her inYellowjackets' 1990s timeline. Still having the sheath in her possession 25 years later indicates that Shauna has not forgotten Melissa and the feelings she once had for her. The sheath was a perfect gift for Shauna that Melissa made for her while also showing that Melissa accepted her for who she was. Keeping the sheath is arguably a way for Shauna to hold onto these feelings.

Season 3, episode 7 is the first mention of Melissa in the present-day timeline.

Van (Lauren Ambrose) looking troubled in Yellowjackets Season 3 Episode 5

Shauna bringing out the sheath is also important because of Melissa’s connection to Hannah. It is still unclear how Hannah’s daughter got the tape her mother made in the wilderness, but Melissa may be the answer to this question. Taissa Turner (Tawny Cypress) mentions that Melissa and Gen (Vanessa Prasad) got close to Hannah, but that Melissa and Gen are now dead. The episode does not clarify when Melissa and Gen died, so it ispossible that Melissa survived in the wilderness, brought the tape back, and prior to her death, she gave the tape to Hannah’s daughter.

Walter Shares Some Concerning Evidence

Hannah’s daughter appears to be Shauna’s stalker and the one who sent the tape, but this does not necessarily mean that she killed Lottie. Shauna is the prime suspect now, especially now that Walter Tattersall (Elijah Wood) found Shauna’s DNA under Lottie’s fingernails. However, with three episodes still to go in season 3, it is unlikely that the show has already revealed Lottie’s killer. Her death and the stalking may have nothing to do with each other, just like how the blackmail and how Travis Martinez (Andrés Soto) died ended up not being related despite the characters' suspicions.

Waiting until episode 10 to show Shauna killing Lottie would feel anticlimactic if Shauna being the killer was already cemented in episode 7.

Lauren Ambrose and Tawny Cypress as Taissa and Van in Yellowjackets season 2.

While discussingLottie’s shocking fate, Kessell teased that a flashback in the season 3 finale will show how Lottie really died. Waiting until episode 10 to show Shauna killing Lottie would feel anticlimactic if Shauna being the killer was already cemented in episode 7. Shauna is guilty of many things, butLottie’s death is a crime that it seems like she actually didn’t commit. More information needs to be revealed inYellowjacketsseason 3 before the truth of Lottie’s demise can be shown.

Who Edwin, Hannah & Kodiak Are & How They Find The Teens In The Wilderness

They Are Connected To KUH

Edwin and Hannah are scientists who are in the wilderness to study and record a rare frog species. They refer to a previous team of scientists doing research in this area of the wilderness and that the team left supplies behind, which explains theKUH boxes found by Coach Ben Scott(Steven Krueger) at the beginning of season 3. Kodiak (Joel McHale) is a guide who has been assigned to help Edwin and Hannah safely navigate the wilderness.

The frogs are responsible for the mysterious screeching noise heard in the wilderness.

When Edwin smells fire and the scent of meat being cooked, he goes toward the smell, even though Kodiak warns him against doing so. This leads Edwin, Hannah, and Kodiak to the fire, which the teenage survivors are dancing around in ritualistic fashion. As if this is not alarming enough, Edwin spots the severed head of Coach Ben.The smell that Edwin followed came from pieces of Coach Ben’s body being cookedafter Natalie Scatorccio (Sophie Thatcher) finally put him out of his misery.

Why Lottie Killed Edwin & What The Teens Are Going To Do With Hannah & Kodiak

Lottie Sees Them As A Threat

It does not take long to prove that Edwin should have heeded Kodiak’s warning, with Lottie using an axe to kill Edwin from behind. She claims to have killed Edwin because the wilderness does not want these strangers. While Lottie may believe this, she likely also does not want to be rescued and go back home, as she likes the power she has in the wilderness. Hannah and Kodiak flee after witnessing Edwin’s gruesome death and are hunted by the Yellowjackets.

What’s Happening With Van’s Cancer In Yellowjackets Season 3, Episode 7?

She May Not Survive Season 3

Despite the health of Van Palmer (Lauren Ambrose) seemingly getting better in the present day, she begins coughing up blood and requires medical care in episode 7. Taissa seemed to believe that Van’s cancer was getting better because of sacrifices made to the wilderness. By Taissa’s logic, Van’s cancer is no longer in remission because another sacrifice needs to be made. Taissa was willing to kill people for this reason, but Van refused, and now the consequences of that choice may have caught up with her.
