Which Captain Likely Commands The Starship Enterprise In Star Trek: Section 31

The USS Enterprise-B Is Likely Active In Star Trek: Section 31

The most logical Starship Enterprise active duringStar Trek: Section 31is the USS Enterprise-B commanded by Captain John Harriman (Alan Ruck). The Excelsior Class USS Enterprise-B is launched at the beginning ofStar Trek Generations, and its fateful maiden voyage ended with the apparentdeath of Captain James T. Kirk(William Shatner) after an encounter with the other-dimensional energy ribbon called the Nexus. It was an inauspicious start for John Harriman’s run as Captain of the Enterprise.

Star Trek: Section 31 Movie Ending & All Twists Explained

Star Trek: Section 31 introduces a new threat to the Federation Emperor Georgiou must defeat. Here’s what Section 31’s ending means.

31 years later, inStar Trek: Section 31,it’s possible Captain Harriman is still in command of the USS Enterprise-B after a long service as the flagship of the United Federation of Planets.Little is canonically known about the Enterprise-B’s voyages afterStar Trek Generations, or whether Captain Harriman grew into the center seat as the successor to Captain Kirk. The Enterprise-B is the greater possibility as the Federation flagship active in 2324 than the Ambassador Class USS Enterprise-C, which likely launched afterStar Trek: Section 31’s timeframe.

Why The USS Enterprise Doesn’t Appear In Star Trek: Section 31

Section 31 Is “A New Flavor Of Star Trek”

Neither the USS Enterprise-B nor any otherversion of the Starship Enterpriseappears inStar Trek: Section 31as part of the streaming movie’s initiative to deliver a different kind ofStar Trek.Section 31is set outside of Federation space beyond the Enterprise’s jurisdiction and in an era ofStar Trekthat has not previously been explored to any great extent. This gaveStar Trek: Section 31plenty of leeway to depict its own version ofStar Trekthat only pays lip service to the franchise’s vast canon of TV shows and movies.

Star Trek: Section 31 Cast & Character Guide

Star Trek: Section 31 introduces a new team of operatives teaming up with Michelle Yeoh’s Emperor Georgiou to save the Federation from a new threat.

Star Trek: Section 31does contain multiple ties toStar Treklore, from Emperor Georgiou’s history in the Mirror Universe to classicStar Trekaliens like the Deltan Melle (Humberly Gonzalez), the Chameloid Quasi (Sam Richardson), and pseudo-Vulcan Fuzz (Sven Ruygrok). However,Section 31keeps itsStar Trekvisual cues to a minimum, and the famous Starfleet delta logo only makes a handful of appearances. Star Trek: Section 31 Has A Future USS Enterprise Captain

Section 31 Hints At Lt. Rachel Garrett’s Future

Although the Starship Enterprise is not spoken of,Star Trek: Section 31has a couple of wink-wink bits of dialogue referencing Lieutenant Rachel Garrett’s (Kacey Rohl) desire to become a starship Captain. Garrett is a Science Officer assigned to Section 31 to ensure Alok Sahar’s (Omari Hardwick) Alpha Team doesn’t commit murder.Star Trekfans know thatRachel is destined to become Captain Garrett (Tricia O’Neill) of the doomed USS Enterprise-CinStar Trek: The Next Generation’s classic episode “Yesterday’s Enterprise.”

Rachel Garrett is promoted to Lieutenant Commander at the end ofStar Trek: Section 31,bringing her one step closer to her tragic destiny.

Rachel Garrett is believed to be the only Captain of the Ambassador Class USS Enterprise-C, which is destroyed fighting Romulans at Narendra III in 2344. This not only meansLieutenant Commander Garrett only has 20 years of life left afterStar Trek: Section 31, but her Captaincy comes within those two decades.Star Trek: Section 31nods at the future Captain Garrett but stops short of outright foreshadowing that she will becomeCaptain of the Enterprise.
