ScreenRant interviews The Studio co-creator Seth Rogen and stars Catherine O’Hara, Ike Barinholtz, & Chase Sui Wonders about the Apple TV+ series.

A “put picture” in Hollywood terms is a feature film that a major movie studio, like Continental, is contractually bound to distribute under their banner.Patty asking for a “put picture” ultimately guarantees that a movie she produces will be distributed in theaters by Continentalor potentially, in this day and age, on a streaming service. If she did not secure those rights, Continental would not be obligated to distribute the film. The nonexclusive rights, as well, allow Patty to bring her film to other distributors, meaning that Continental wouldn’t own the IP.

Why Matt Needed Patty In A Producer Role For Upcoming Movies

Patty Has A Strong Relationship With The Kool-Aid Movie Writer

Matt wasn’t just feeling sorry for Patty when he gave her a new deal as a producer at Continental. Matt needed writer/directorNick Stoller, who originally came up with the Kool-Aid movie concept that Griffin loved, to get back on board with Continental after Matt tossed him aside for Martin Scorsese’s Jonestown idea. Stoller himself says inThe Studioepisode 1 that Patty gave him his first big break in Hollywood, so Matt knows the only way Stoller would come back and work on the Kool-Aid film with Matt was with Patty’s help.
