Welcome Party Steps 1 & 2 in Pokémon GO

Normal & Water-Type Challenges

The first step of theWelcome PartySpecial Research inPokémon GOinvolves the task tocomplete 10 Party Challengeswith aChansey encounter as a reward. The second task of this step is to then catch 10 Normal-type Pokémon in return for 2000 XP. This can include Kangaskhan after beating one of theMega Kangaskhan raids inPokémon GO. For completing the whole set of challenges, you’ll get an Eevee encounter, 2000 Stardust, and an Eevee t-shirt for your avatar.

The second step follows the same theme but with variations to the tasks and rewards. For a Lapras encounter, players will need to complete 30 Party Challenges - followed by catching 15 Water-type Pokémon while in a party to get 3000 XP. The former challenge is a great opportunity if you were not able to catch a Lapras during theWater Festival inPokémon GO. By completing this second set, Trainers will be rewarded with a Vaporeon encounter 3000 Stardust, and another avatar t-shirt - this time with the Water-type Eeveelution.

Get A Jolteon & Flareon

The second half of theWelcome PartySpecial Research inPokémon GOstarts withearning an Alolan Raichi encounteronce youtick off another batch of 30 Party Challenges. This task also works as another great opportunity to fill your Pokédex if you were not able to take part in one of theAlolan Raichu raidsover the last couple of years.

Next, you’ll be granted 3000 XP by catching 15 Electric-type Pokémon while in a Party. Like the previous step, finishing both tasks also rewards with get you 3000 Stardust - along with a Jolteon encounter and a matching avatar t-shirt.

As for the final couple of challenges and rewards, the themed type is Fire. After you and your team blast through a closing set of 30 Party Challenges, an Alolan Marowak encounter will come your way. If you have not had the chance to fulfill one of the normal ways to get Alolan Marowak inPokémon GO, this is as good an opportunity as any.

Another bundle of 3000XP will be added to your account once you catch 15 Fire-type Pokémon as well. A Flareon encounter will lead the rewards you get for concluding the final set - alongside an ultimate drop of 3000 Stardust and another fitting avatar shirt with the flaming Eeveelution on its front.
