We are getting closer to Bob Odenkirk’sNobody 2release as filming officially wraps. The original action thriller, released in 2021, was directed by Ilya Naishuller and written by Derek Kolstad, the latter known forJohn Wick. It starred Odenkirk as Hutch Mansell, a seemingly ordinary family man who is compelled to confront his past as a government assassin after he and his family become the targets of a vengeful crime boss. ThesequelNobody 2is now in the works with Timo Tjahjanto (May the Devil Take You) taking over as director.

Now, less than two months after principal photography began, directorTimo Tjahjantoannounced on Instagram that"shooting has officially wrapped" onNobody 2.Check out his full post below:

The director announced the news with a photo of the film’s clapperboard, seemingly after filming the final scene. He captioned the post, “The body is exhausted, yet the heart is full, the pride is humbled while the universe is expanding.”

Other thanOdenkirk’s Hutch Mansell,the sequel is set to bring back more characters from the first film, and also introduce some new antagonists for the former government assassin to take on. Academy Award nominee Sharon Stone (Martin Scorsese’sCasino) has been cast as the main villain, though details about her role remain under wraps. Colin Hanks, son of Tom Hanks, will also appear as a secondary antagonist, portraying a corrupt and power-hungry sheriff. Reprising their roles are Connie Nielsen as Hutch’s wife Becca, Christopher Lloyd as Hutch’s father and retired FBI agent David, and RZA as Hutch’s brother Harry.

The sequel also stars Mckenna Grace and John Ortiz in undisclosed roles.

Nobody’s post-credits sceneshowed David and Harry with guns in their family caravan, seemingly heading across the border, suggesting they will play significant roles in the sequel. This aligns with what Connie Nielsen has said, suggestingthe sequel will delve deeper into the Mansell family strugglesas Hutch’s complicated past continues coming to light and disrupting his seemingly perfect family life. LikeJohn Wick, the sequel should intensify the action and visuals, while also utilizing Odenkirk’s dramatic range and his newfound action-hero persona.

The Sequel Is Moving Along Smoothly

Nobody 2was initially announced in 2021, but the project faced multiple delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the dual Hollywood strikes. However, ever since the sequel started shooting in August 2024, everything has been moving along smoothly, and it is set to hit theaters on August 17, 2025.

While the recently announced filming wrap won’t make that date arrive any sooner, it is nice to know that production is moving along smoothly without any major issues.
