Big Little Liesstar Zoë Kravitz shares what she knows about season 3. Based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Liane Moriarty, season 1 of the HBO series fully adapted the novel, and received critical acclaim. Season 1’s success led to HBO greenlighting season 2, with Moriarty providing a story for a continuation that seemingly brought the series to a satisfying conclusion. However, season 2 being the end was no longer the case after series star and executive producer Nicole Kidman confirmed thatBig Little Liesseason 3was in the works.

While speaking withPeople,Kravitz acknowledges that she knows"nothing"official about season 3, but is nevertheless"excited to do it.“The stories of Kravitz’s Bonnie Carlson andBig Little Lies' other characters appear to still be in early stages of development, as Kravitz explains that"I’m waiting to see, like everybody else, the third season that’s happening … waiting by the phone, waiting for the script to be done.” As for Bonnie’s circumstances in season 3, Kravitz believes that"I think Bonnie’s divorced — that’s good for her."

How Big Little Lies' Story Can Continue After Season 2

The Monterey Five May No Longer Be At The Forefront Of The Story

With Bonnie, Celeste Wright (Kidman), Madeline Mackenzie (Reese Witherspoon), Jane Chapman (Shailene Woodley), and Renata Klein (Laura Dern) all entering the police station during theBig Little Liesseason 2 ending, it is difficult to see how the series can continue in season 3. The Monterey Five turning themselves in to the authorities, ending the lying, and confronting the consequences of their actions was a satisfying way to end the series. While the Monterey Five will undoubtedly still be important in season 3,the story may shift toward the younger generation.

Big Little Liesseason 1 won eight Emmy Awards and received 16 nominations.
