Venomis one of Marvel’s most popular characters, and part of that is the sheer versatility of the symbiote’s design. Over the past few decades, Venom has had some amazing designs, and Marvel just put out another fantastic one with this new V-Star design that is unlike anything Venom has had before. This new design takes Venom to the far end of sci-fi, asVenom ends up looking far more like an androidfrom the future than the iconic alien goo that readers know.

This killer new design was just debuted in theVenomverse Reborn #3story “Beyond the Void” by Steve Foxe and Kei Zama. This story takes place on Earth-71490,the home of Spider-Verse hero Web-Weaver. There’s been a recent spree of brutal murders against a former research team, and Web-Weaver is determined to get to the bottom of it. While Web-Weaver is aware the killer is a symbiote, he could never be prepared for the brand-new look that this universe’s Venom is sporting.

VENOM’S V-STAR REDESIGN

It turns out that this universe’s version of Venom isn’t Eddie Brock, but instead Cindy Moon. Having been experimented on by the villainous Project V-Star,the Venom symbiote was pulled from an outside reality and infected Cindy Moon’s entire family, killing her mother and father before spreading to her and her brother. To ease her brother’s suffering, Cindy absorbs the majority of the symbiote out of him, transforming into something readers have never seen before.

Venom Is Total Nightmare Fuel in Unique Art Almost Too Scary for Marvel

New Venom art shows what could have made for a terrifying scene in Venom: The Last Dance, but is way too horrific for most fans to see.

This version of Venom isn’t the classic muscle-bound hulking monster that readers are used to. Likewise, it’s not the sleek Spider-Man-alike design either. Instead, this V-Star Venom has a futuristic, angular design. That makes sense, as this symbiote is apparently from another reality entirely, with different physical laws. It’s an amazing new look that Venom hasn’t had before, and it truly goes a long way to making Venom look otherworldly.

It seems looks aren’t the only difference either, as this V-Star Venom is shown fully capable of flying, which is a feat Venom isn’tusuallycapable of, unless he first grows wings.V-Star is linked to the multiverse on a psychic level and perceives time differently that a human, stripping Cindy of her humanity and leaving her obsessed with taking predestined vengeance against the scientists who studied and manipulated her transformation.

There have beendozensof Venom hosts over the years, and none of them have looked the same. From slight alterations like Dylan Brock’s chain-wielding version to major changes such as Guardians of the Galaxy’s Space Knight Venom, Venom can take on dozens of different forms and fit in almost any setting. TheVenom symbiote has been in Viking storiesand now proves that it can do sci-fi just as easily. It’s this versatility that makes Venom capable of supporting an entire multiverse of stories.

Venom Can Take On Tons Of Different Looks

Venom’s Core Design Is So Flexible, He Can Be Everything from a T-Rex to a Space Ranger

Every time Venom bonds with a new host, he takes on a new form. Sometimes these forms are major changes, while sometimes they’re minor variations on his classic design. Eddie Brock’s version of Venom looks completely different from when Peter Parker wore the symbiote, and they both look practically unrecognizable from whenFlash Thompson wore it as Agent Venom. There are other universes, such as the Mangaverse where Kid Venom resides, the world where a dinosaur wears the symbiote, and many occasions and timelines where the symbiote claims new hosts including the Hulk, Spider-Gwen and Hyperion. Each time, fans know they can look forward to a unique twist on Venom.

However, the V-Star goes further, pushing the boundaries of Venom’s origin and powers to create what’s essentially a new character with a unique connection to symbiote lore. It’s likely thatVenomverse Reborn’s best symbiotes will return soon (Kid Venom got his own comic series), so hopefully this is just the start of the V-Star symbiote’s horror-tinged sci-fi story as the newest (and perhaps best)Venomvariant in the Marvel multiverse.
