The new images forThe Toxic Avengergive a closer look at Peter Dinklage’s hero character.The Toxic Avengeris a remakeof the classic 1984 film of the same name. The movie tells the story of a janitor named Winston Gooze who, after falling into toxic waste, evolves into the eponymous Toxic Avenger. The new version of the horror comedy features a star-studdedleading cast including Dinklage, Elijah Wood, Jacob Tremblay, Kevin Bacon, and Taylour Paige.The movie initially premiered at Fantastic Fest in September 2023 but now has distribution for this summer, opening on August 29.
Now,Entertainment Weeklyhas revealed new images of Dinklage in hisToxic Avengerrole. Theimages show the star in full makeup all over his entire body.His skin is green, and he has two dark black eye sockets. His body has enlarged veins and bulging muscles and he wears tattered, demolished clothing. In one image, he holds his classic mop. Check out theToxic Avengerimages below:

The goal was to attempt to stay true to the vibe of Lloyd’s original Jennifer Aspinall/Mitch Cohen creature, with some influence from theToxic Crusaderscartoon’s look, while also trying to do something new and weird and lovable with Toxie’s design. I love what Millenium FX did with it — part human, part mutant, all heart.

Blair and his team maintained that feature for the remake’s new version. Additionally, facial features like Mitch Cohen’s sunken eyes from the movie’s ’80s counterpart are used in the Dinklage version of the role.
This latestToxic Avengeris, however, much greener than the previous versions. Dinklage is nearly unrecognizable in the role, showing the extent of the makeup used to create this look. In a 2023 interview,Blair was sure to mention how “practical effects” were usedinThe Toxic Avengerto create the actor’s main look. This includes “goopy little boils and stuff like that.” The care that went into the practical effects is evident in the latest images.
