Coming up with a preset of powers was certainly dangerous, but Ivo managed toupgrade Amazo even further, enabling it to absorb the powers of any superpowered being it came into contact with. Unaware of this, the Justice League called in their full roster and attacked Amazo with every member they had. This was a deadly mistake, as it only caused Amazo to absorb even more powers, practically becoming a god.Things grew so desperate that Superman had no choice but to do something he’d never done for any villain before.
As Amazo gained more and more power from the Justice League, Superman, acting as chairman, made the grim decision to announce the League’s disbandment. Since Amazo was programmed to steal the Justice League’s powers and use them to defeat the heroes, if the League no longer existed, Amazo would have no purpose or reason to continue functioning. As strange and counterintuitive as it may seem, disbanding the Justice League was the only viable way to stop the android, causing Amazo to shut down instantly.
