TheMarvel Cinematic Universehas had to make changes after Jonathan Majors' Kang the Conqueror fromAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniawas removed as the main villain of their saga, anda new theory suggests a way to tie the story of Galactus into the earlier MCU.The focus of the MCU’s Multiverse saga has changed with thereturn of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, and it seems that this new focus has excited audiences. With only two years until the release ofAvengers: Doomsday, the studio is looking for ways to have the villain tie into MCU stories.
Interconnectivity is important inthe MCU timeline, and new developments thus raise the possibility that Marvel will attempt to retroactively tie its new lore into the old in order to balance having to get rid of its prior Kang plans. With the introduction of several new iconic heroes inThe Fantastic Four: First Steps, and with that cast among the first confirmed stars ofDoomsday, the creatives at Marvel are surely working on tying everything together neatly. As such, one new MCU theory finds a way to tie the story of Galactus into previous Marvel projects.

Alioth Appeared In Loki And Deadpool & Wolverine
One MCU theory suggests that Alioth, the destructive monster fromLoki, could be established as a Galactus variant, serving as a way to tie together the Multiverse Saga. Details of the Multiverse Saga’s overarching plot are still hazy. However, Kang the Conqueror was intended to be the main villain ofAvengers 5, which would have seen the heroes teaming up to take down different versions of the villain. Instead, this entire plot has seemingly been done away with in favor of the introduction of Doctor Doom, thus presenting some major challenges in terms of reestablishing interconnectivity.
It is important with a sequence of films like this that great care be given to ensuring its overarching connectivity, making sure the overall experience blends together into one cohesive story. The trend ofMCU post-credit sceneshave been a casualty of these same changes, causing some worry that several new scenes will never amount to anything.Without some firm lines in place, the series' integrity begins to be questioned. However, establishing Alioth as a Galactus variant would be an excellent way to tie some consistency in the stories together, especially since Marvel’s movies have already inadvertently laid the groundwork.

The MCU Has Already Teased There’s More Than One Multiverse Galactus
A Different Galactus Appeared In Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer
Galactus is often considered a singular entity in the Marvel universe with no variants of the character, raising questions for his live-action adaptation. However, this does not appear to be the case for the MCU:Chris Evans' Human Torch appeared inDeadpool & Wolverine, connecting that iteration of the Fantastic Four to the Marvel Multiverse, and that Johnny Storm did fight a version of Galactus inFantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Following that logic, there could viably be more than one Galactus.
Furthermore, the Galactus variant that Johnny Storm fought was not the traditional giant humanoid, but a cloud-like entity. Interestingly, this version of the villain bore a striking resemblance to Alioth, the destructive multiversal force seen in the Void. This connection between the two characters could potentially hold significant implications for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as it supports the idea that Alioth could be a variant of Galactus.Understanding this connection could provide valuable insights into Galactus' role in the MCU, and tie what was Kang’s story into Doctor Doom’s upcoming narrative.

Making Alioth A Galactus Variant Would Tie Much Of Kang’s Story Into The Current MCU
The TVA, The Void, And Other Details Tie In To Both Alioth And Kang
Much of Kang’s story seemed to be done away with in the MCU following the dismissal of Jonathan Majors from the role. However, the character and his council worked very hard to shape the multiverse and to destroy components that were against his vision. This meant a great deal of pain and destruction wrought throughout the Marvel multiverse, assisted by Alioth. However, with Kang gone, it seems much of this has been forgotten, and a new villain and focus have been established, even ifKang could be recast.
As audiences have seen, Kang’s actions have led to the destruction of many worlds and Avengers. This destructive force could be effectively linked to Galactus, a character known for consuming planets and obliterating worlds- especially since the MCU Alioth was created by rifts in the multiverse, which could viably have created a warped version of the planet-eater. By turning Alioth into a Galactus variant, the stories told inLokiandDeadpool & Wolverinecould remain tied to the larger MCU story inFantastic Fourmore directly, and thus potentially also merge with the story of their nemesis, Doctor Doom, as well.

The Multiverse Saga’s Biggest Threat Was Introduced 2 Years Before Kang According To Deadpool & Wolverine Theory
Deadpool & Wolverine’s recently confirmed variants suggest that the Multiverse Saga’s most powerful weapon was introduced back in Phase 4.
Using Doctor Doom to replace Kang is an exciting prospect, but it will only work if it is done thoughtfully and carefully. A great deal of multiversal storytelling still requires resolution in the MCU, and using figures like Galactus to tie things together could be a very effective tool for theMarvel Cinematic Universe. Tying this character to Alioth would make a lot of sense for making the universe feel more cohesive.
