The upcoming movie is set to introduce a new version of Batman as part of the James Gunn and Peter Safran-led DC Universe, as the DC Extended Universe Batman star Ben Affleck will not be returning and the Robert PattinsonThe Batmanfranchise takes place in another universe as part of DC Elseworlds. In June 2023, it was announced that theupcomingThe Brave and the Bold, which also features the version of Robin who is Batman’s son Damian Wayne, will be helmed byThe Flashdirector Andy Muschietti.
During a recent interview withVorterix, Andy Muschietti revealed thatThe Brave and the Boldhas “been postponed a bit.“He revealed that he is currently in the process of writing a new science fiction movie that he might direct before helming the DCUBatmantitle amid its delays, about which he did not offer any further details. When it was announced that the DCEU was giving way to the DCU under the guidance of Gunn and Safran, who are the new DC Studios co-chairmen and co-CEOs,The Brave and the Boldwas one of the first titles on the slateof incoming projects. However, in the wake of that announcement, it was not given a release date, unlike otherupcoming DCU moviesincludingSuperman(June 05, 2025),Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow(June 25, 2025), andClayface(Jun 16, 2025).
