With nearly a year gone since the show’s record-breaking debut, Giogria Whigham has shared a new behind-the-scenes video fromTedseason 2. Created and led by Seth MacFarlane in the titular role, the Peacock comedy serves as a prequel to MacFarlane’s movie franchise of the same name, exploring the teenage years of Ted the talking bear and John Bennett, as well as their dysfunctional family life. Also starring Max Burkholder, Scott Grimes, Alanna Ubach and Whigham inTed’s cast, season 1 became the best-reviewed installment in the franchise, with its strong viewership also netting it a season 2 renewal.

Some five months after the cast reunited for the first table read of the new season,Giorgia Whighamhas taken to her TikTok to reveal a new BTS video forTedseason 2. The post, featuring a brief caption that reads “The bennetts [heart hand emoji]",shows the star putting her phone on a lazy Susan and turning it in a complete 180-degree to showcase the main cast of characters together at the breakfast table. The video also features the stuffed animal stand-in for the titular talking teddy bear, with its puppetteers nearby. Check out the BTS video below:

What This Means For Ted Season 2

Filming May Just Be On The Verge Of Completion

While Whigham’s update marks the first concrete information revealed about the new season, reports in August indicated thatTedseason 2 was scheduled to begin filmingin early September and finish in mid-December. Given the BTS video doesn’t indicate how far along in production the team are, no definitive timeline can be determined for the season’s filming. That said, with Grimes having also indicated table reads were happening in June, it does seem likely filming would have begun by the reported September date, if not sooner, thus making a December wrap feasible.

Tedseason 1 took three months to film, running from August to November 2022.

Should the show make this filming end date, the question then becomes whenTedseason 2 might release on Peacock. If looking at season 1,there was a 14-month turnaround time between when filming wrapped and when it premiered on the streaming platform. Considering season 2 was reportedly nearly cancelled due to the increased pricing and extensive post-production process for the live-action/CGI-hybrid show, it seems likely the wait will be very similar, potentially putting it in a January or February 2026 release window.

Our Take On Ted Season 2’s Filming & Release Chances

While, on the one hand, a two-year gap is pretty normal for most streaming shows nowadays,Tedseason 2 shouldn’t aim to break this trend by rushing the post-production process. As was made evident by the muted critical response toTed 2, which had a three-year gap from its first movie, and the strong reception to season 1, which came 9 years after the 2015 sequel, patience is a virtue withMacFarlane’s franchise, and I’m very much willing to wait if it means season 2 reaches the same joyous heights as its predecessor.
