Star Warshas finally given information onAhsoka Tano’s whereabouts during the Galactic Civil War and the original trilogy. Though Ahsoka was a major figure during the Clone Wars, she didn’t appear in the original trilogy ofStar Warsmovies. She, of course, hadn’t been created until decades after the original trilogy, butStar Warshas mostly avoided giving an explicit answer to the question ofwhere Ahsoka was throughout the Galactic Civil War. Now, however, the franchise has given a concrete clue that helps narrow down exactly what she was doing and when she was doing it.
The recently released video gameStar Wars Outlawssubtly redefinedAhsoka’sStar Warstimelineby changing the date of a massive moment in the saga.Outlawsconfirmed thedate of the Purge of Mandaloreto be 3 ABY, which was a full year prior to the previous canontimeline provided by Huyang inAhsoka. With the new timeline of the Purge of Mandalore,Star Warshas indirectly confirmed what Ahsoka was doing, and why she didn’t appear in many of the major battles of the Galactic Civil War: she was training Sabine Wren as a Jedi.

The Star Wars Timeline Explained, Completely & Succinctly
The Star Wars timeline is only going to get more expansive as the franchise continues, making it more necessary than ever to explore every era.
Ahsoka & Sabine Must Have Been Training Through Most Of The Original Trilogy
Ahsoka’s story inStar Warsis a bit complicated. She effectively disappeared for two years, from 3 to 1 BBY, when Ezra Bridger rescued her from her duel with Darth Vader inStar Wars Rebelsby using the World Between Worlds. After that, Ahsoka began training Sabine Wren as a Jedi.TheAhsokashow then confirmed that Ahsoka was training Sabine until shortly after the Purge of Mandalore, whichOutlawsrecently established took place in 3 ABY. Therefore, Ahsoka was training Sabine for most of the original trilogy.
Sabine Wren
A Mandalorian rebel, Sabine is a technological genius whose ideas were turned against her own people by the Empire. She served as an important member of the Lothal cell for years, only to return to her own people for a time with the knowledge and skills she had cultivated. More recently, Sabine has unlocked her nascent ability to access the Force, becoming Ahsoka Tano’s Padawan.
WhileOutlawsdid confirm that Ahsoka was preoccupied with training her Padawan for most of the original trilogy, it also introduced a bit of a problem with the timeline. The Purge of Mandalore happened in 3 ABY, and Ahsoka and Sabine parted ways shortly after, but the Galactic Civil War didn’t end until two years later, in 5 ABY at the Battle of Jakku. Her training of Sabine explains where Ahsoka was during the originalStar WarsandThe Empire Strikes Back, but it fails to explain where Ahsoka was duringReturn of the Jediand the last year of the war.

Star Wars Outlaws
Set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, Star Wars Outlaws is an open-world action-adventure game where players hop into the scoundrel boots of Kay Vess, a woman who travels the galaxy Looking for a better life. Together with her furry partner Nix and new allies she meets along the way, Kay will navigate the various landscapes, towns, and planets across the galaxy while outsmarting both Crime Syndicates and the Empire.
ThoughStar Warshas yet to give a definitive answer as to where Ahsoka was during the end of the war, her story might have some clues. It’s possible that instead of fighting in the war, Ahsoka chose to contribute to the galaxy’s defense by trying to eliminate Thrawn and find Ezra. It’s also possible that she and Sabine simply parted ways a longer time after the Purge of Mandalore than previously thought, asAhsokanever gave a definitive date for their split. Regardless, however, there are now plenty of ways forStar Warsto build onAhsoka Tano’s story thanks toOutlaws.

Ahsoka Tano
The apprentice of Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano was an accomplished Padawan who served during the Clone Wars. Ahsoka left the Jedi after she became disillusioned with the Jedi Council, but returned to serve in the Siege of Mandalore at the end of the Clone Wars. She survived Order 66, becoming a Rebel agent during the Dark Times of the Empire’s reign, and her adventures continue in the New Republic era. Ahsoka was last seen stranded in a distant galaxy, having failed to prevent Grand Admiral Thrawn’s return.
