Stephen King’s New Project Tease Probably Isn’t About A New Dark Tower Book

There’s Another Project That’s Much More Likely

King has recently taken toXto share some details about what he’s working on currently, andhe’s given the biggest hint so far regarding the content of his next book. In the post, King shared that he’s “back in Mid-World… and the Territories.” These locations feature heavily in his acclaimedDark Towerseries, which supposedly came to an end in 2012 with the eighth installment,The Wind Through The Keyhole. However, given the enormous scope of the series, new installments have always been a possibility.

Stephen King’s Best Book Ending Was A Big Risk (But It’s One That Paid Off)

Stephen King’s best book ending is in The Dark Tower series, which is a risky conclusion but ultimately paid off by working tremendously well.

But unfortunately, it’s unlikely that King will be returning to theDark Towerfranchise any time soon. Instead, it’s more probable that his tease of the Territories is in reference toThe Talisman 3, which takes place in the same location. Importantly, he’s already teased this project before - whereasThe Dark Towerfranchise isn’t something he’s shown interest in revisiting.

Another Talisman Book Is Just As Exciting (& Will Probably Tie Into The Dark Tower)

The Two Series Could Finally Be Converging

King’sTalisman 3teaseis hugely exciting, andhis mention of Mid-World has piqued his fans’ interesteven more. This location has never featured in theTalismanbooks before, so it’s possible that the author is somehow planning to connect the upcoming story toThe Dark Towerseries.

Stephen Kingis no stranger to connecting his stories together, and there’s even an argument to be made that everything he’s written is technically connected somehow. However, officially bringingThe Talisman 3into Mid-World would be more than an Easter egg - it could lead into some kind of spin-off or loose sequel that builds on the events of theDark Towerseries.
