The REV-8 has been a transformational addition toStarfieldbutone creative player managed to fly the vehicle even higher with a fantastic mod. Gone are the days of mindless trudging around planets in the hope of coming across something interesting asStarfieldplayers can now simply climb into the driver’s seat of a speedy buggy. Taking that idea one step further, modders quickly figured out how to take the bones of the REV-8 and turn it into something more visually unique without losing its usefulness.

Posted to theStarfieldCreations page, modderzone79shared their design forthe GRAV-79, a standalone cyberpunk-inspired hovercraft that can be purchased from a Ship Service Technician. An upgrade on the REV-8 in every sense, this vehicle allows players to zoom across the land or take to the skies by holding down the vertical boost button and the forward thrust controls. It also proves helpful in a pinch thanks to the added damage on its laser turret which can make dealing with small groups of enemies much easier, especially with such a quick getaway option.

Modding Starfield To Be Better

It Needs A Little Help

The modding community has been especially helpful when it comes to turningStarfieldinto the RPG many players wanted it to be when Bethesda first announced it.The studio itself has done an admirable job of keeping the experience fresh and relevant: The surprise launch of the REV-8 was enough tobring plenty of lapsed players backand theShattered SpaceDLC drummed up some excitement. At the same time, modders have also helped make the game better thanks to an endless stream of tweaks, improvements, and custom content drops.

The launch of Creations was a shot in the arm forStarfieldas players on all platforms were given the option to access content that was previously only available on PC. Despite initial interest in the system being high,Starfield’s reputation has still yet tofully recover from its rocky launch. It’s managed to find a niche that enjoys its sprawling open-world design but withShattered Spacedisappointing the communityit remains to be seen if it can pull off aNo Man’s Sky-esqueabout-turn.

Starfield: Shattered Space Adding More POIs Was Nice, But New Locations Aren’t Enough To Fix The Game’s Biggest Problem With Repetition

Starfield: Shattered Space attempted to fix the base game’s problem with repetition by adding new POIs. It didn’t work, and now a new fix is required.

Starfield Still Needs Plenty Of Work

But Who Doesn’t Love A Hovercar?

As much as I dislikedStarfield,I find mods like the GRAV-79 to be a remarkable expression of love for the game. Zone79 should be commended for the amount of effort that’s gone into bringing the vehicle to life; I have half a mind to re-download Bethesda’s RPG just to try it out. I may not enjoyStarfield’s gameplay but flying around in a hovercar is always fun.
