Because Captain Aelfyr is a high-level boss with other Steel Garrote soldiers on her side, you may need to lower the game’s difficulty if you’re under-leveled. Altogether, I found getting this handy piece of gear more than worth it.
What If You Spare Captain Aelfyr?

If you decide to spare Captain Aelfyr at this point inAvowed, you will simply be free towalk through the gate to Shatterscarp without a fight. You will also still have Inquisitor Lodwyn’s Missive given to you to take away. Later in the game, however, she will reappear as an enemy in the Galawain’s Tusks region. Killing Captain Aelfyr & her soldiers will also grant an extra 326 XP.
