Saw XIcould indeed further the character growth of the previous movie, especially if it continues to explore the paternal relationship between Jigsaw and the young Mexican boy Carlos (Jorge Briseño), with whom he forged a bond over the course of a grisly adventure in the previous installment. The previous movie alsoteased that the new movie will further explore the character’s relationship with Hoffman(Costas Mandylor) in the way that the prior one did with Amanda (Shawnee Smith), giving him a very different personality to play against and, in the process, potentially show more sides of his own.
