The developers at Coffee Stain Studios recently launched a long-awaited update toSatisfactory. After five years of early access, version 1.0 patch notesindicate massive quality-of-life changes, including substantial bug fixes and updates to the Awesome Shop. But as much as things change, they stay the same. New players will still need to craft the space elevator toachieve milestones and unlock higher tiers.
Whether you’re a new FICSIT employee landing on Massage-2(AB) for the first time, or a seasoned veteran looking to start a fresh adventure, assembling the space elevator will be a priority. InSatisfactory, the name of the game is resource harvesting. Connecting a space elevator to the orbital platform accelerates Project Assembly, a milestone phase necessary to advancefactory development on the planet.

Complete Milestone: Part Assembly
Upgrade The Assembler To Craft Project Parts To Launch With The Space Elevator
Before building the space elevator, players should completeMilestone: Part Assembly. Otherwise, the space elevator will be useless. This Tier 2 phase leads to upgrading the assembler. When the necessary resources have been collected, the assembler will be able to craft more complex items, which is crucial for Project Assembly.
Satisfactory: How to Unlock (& Use) Ziplines
Ziplines in Satisfactory can be unlocked early through the MAM Caterium Research tree, and players can use them to travel using Power Lines.
Collect cobbler, steel, screws, and plates and launch the resources in the Milestone Trackerto upgrade the assembler. ADA will tell the FICSIT employee that the first project part needed for Tier 3, smart plating, can now be made immediately with the assembler.

The upgraded assembler will be able to create project parts up to Tier 9. These parts arenecessary for Project Assembly. Continue automation of project parts until they can be launched with the space elevator. During Project Assembly, project parts can be sent to the orbital platform using the space elevator.

Build The Space Elevator
Launch Parts To The Orbital Platform To Complete Project Assembly
Now,build the space elevator. The space elevator is necessary to complete Project Assembly, since it is the only way to deliver project parts to the orbital platform. The recipe for the space elevator consists of concrete, iron plates, iron rod, and asubstantial amount of wire. You can see a helpful video guide fromBuckyZSabove.
Once built, start launching those project parts into space to unlock new milestones and higher tiers. Remember that only one can be built on Massage-2(AB), but the structure can be moved around the planet to more convenient factory locations.

Only one space elevator can be built on the planet, but the structure can be relocated.
Complete Project Assembly
Move Onto New Milestones And Conquer The Planet
With the space elevator built, and project parts flowing in the assembler, builders can unlock Tier 9 of project assembly tocomplete the milestone. Project Assembly consists of four phases: (1) Platform, (2) Framework, (3) Systems, and (4) Propulsion. Once all phases are checked off, ADA will pop in again for more backhanded compliments.
Move on to the next milestone in Version 1.0. If you complete all phases of space elevator activity, a cutscene will trigger where a spaceship comes tocollect project parts from the orbital platform. Expand yourfactory empireon Massage-2(AB) inSatisfactory.
