Salaar 2was confirmedsoon afterSalaar: Part 1 - Ceasefireaired in December 2023. The producer, Vijay Kiragandur, announced thatSalaar 2had already been written, saying (viaDNAIndia),
“The script of Salaar 2 is ready and we will start the film any time. Prabhas wants to take it on floors as soon as possible and even Prashanth wants to do it. We have been speaking about Salaar 2 and our discussion in the last two to three days was to make the film in the next 15 months. We will definitely release Salaar 2 in 2025, which is about 18 months from now.”
From the sound of it,Salaar 2is already past the planning stage and just needs to be filmed and edited. As far as the producers are concerned, there was never any doubt thatSalaar 2would go into production.

Salaar 2 Will Be An Even More Epic Story
Producer Vijay Kiragandur did give some insight into what should be expected forSalaar 2. He said,
“Salaar 1 is just a glimpse of part two. you may treat it as a trailer and part two will be a lot bigger in terms of action and scale. Prashanth introduced all the characters in the first part and now, Salaar 2 will be like Game of Thrones with a lot of drama, politics, and action. The cliffhanger you have seen now – there will be many more in the sequels.”
Fans should expect a much larger scale and stakes inSalaar 2,according to Prashanth. The ending ofSalaar: Part 1 - Ceasefiresees Rudra allying with his uncle Om to seek the throne, indicating they will be the main antagonists in the next film. Deva’s identity as the true ruler of Khansaar is also revealed, but Vardha swears to serve him, solidifying their friendship.Salaar 2will see the continued fight for the Khansaar throne, though now with everyone’s identities and motives revealed.
