“It really comes down to whether or not it makes sense. I think what’s been great is it was really a kind of story I wanted to tell - we’re calling it The Epic Crime Saga and all of that - which is the thrust of what we want to do, and it’s been important to be able to play that out.
And James and Peter have been really, really great about that, and they are letting us do that. And what the future brings, I can’t really tell you. I have no idea right now, except that my head is down now about getting The Batman - Part II shooting and to make it something really special, which, of course, is the most important thing.

Since Gunn said that heroes who cameo in the animated series will not necessarily look like they do on the show in future live-action projects, Pattinson could still play the DCU’s Batman.

The Move Would Make Even More Sense After The Batman 2’s Delay
I was initially against the idea of Pattinson’s Batman coming to the DCU for two reasons. First,The Batmanfranchise is grounded, while the DCU is more fantastical like the comics. Second, Pattinson is too young for a Bruce Wayne that is the father to a young Damian and leads an entire Bat-Family, which is the plan for the DCU. However, sinceThe Batman - Part IIwas delayed to 2027, Pattinson will be 41 by then, making him perfect for this version ofBatman, and Reeves' comments make the possibility feel very real. Otherwise, he would have denied it.
