Alien vs. Predatorfan art imagines a new take on the Predator and Xenomorph hybrid, and it’s even better than the movies. After the success of 1979’sAlienand 1987’sPredator, and as well as several sequels in each franchise, the two IPs merged into one in 2004’sAlien vs. Predator. This film, which wasn’t particularly well-received, plants the seed for the introduction of thePredalien inAliens vs. Predator – Requiem, with the hybrid creature serving as a key antagonist in the film.
It’s been 18 years since audiences last saw the Predalien in theAliens vs. Predatorsequel, and@Bad_blood_customon Instagram now imagines a new take on the monster’s design. The image, which is AI-generated, featuresa much sleeker take on the creature, with a relatively seamless merging of the Predator and Xenomorph anatomy. The head, for example, features the elongated design of the Xenomorph cranium while sporting the Predator’s mandibles. The new design also features long claws as well as extra limbs sprouting from the monster’s back. Check out the image below:

Now, however, after rough patches in theAlienandPredatorfranchises, both are in positions of relative strength.Alien: Romulusreviewswere positive upon that film’s release last summer, and the Fede Alvarez film was a box office hit.Prey(2022) released directly onto streaming, but it earned some of the most glowing reviews in the franchise’s history, and directorDan Trachtenberg is helmingPredator: Badlands, which hits theaters this November. Now could be the time to revitalize this spinoff franchise, and Alvarez teased toColliderlast month that he’s open to the idea:
“I can’t speak for [Prey director Dan Trachtenberg]. At some point, once there’s another Alien, and I know he’s working on a sequel to Prey, one day if we feel like, ‘Yeah, that’s what we cannot wait to see,’ I think that’s a movie we could do.”

Is It Time For Another Crossover?
With more standalone entries on the way in the worlds of bothAlienandPredator, there could be another exciting opportunity to try again at a crossover in five or 10 years. Even though both crossover movies from the mid-2000s had some interesting ideas, the Predalien chief among them, the execution wasn’t really there.Alvarez and Trachtenberg, however, have proven themselves the right stewards for their respective franchises, and their combined take on a crossover could end up being far more successful.

Upcoming projects in the Alien and Predator franchises suggest it may soon be the perfect time for a new Alien vs. Predator movie crossover.
The Predator and the Xenomorph are two of the most iconic monsters in movie history, and each has a distinctive and memorable design. While combining the two is certainly an exciting prospect,there is also an argument to be made that the two should remain separate, existing in their own worlds, especially given how previous attempts went. It remains to be seen whether anotherAlien vs. Predatormovie will happen, but the image above certainly suggests a compelling new idea for the Predalien’s design.
