The card makes a return, with new artwork, after havingalso been chosen as a Special Illustration Rare for theShrouded Fableseta few months earlier, where it was again one of themost valuable cards in the set.

This Pikachu ex Hyper Rare card 179 is abit of a gamble until prices begin to settle. At the time of writing, it is listed onTCGPlayerat $499.99. However, despite the hard to see quality of the pictures shared here, it is strikingly similar, if not a straight reprint, of the Hyper Rare Pikachu ex that released not very long ago in thePokémon TCG: Surging Sparksset.
The golden card will still be an exciting pull for anyone who finds it inPrismatic Evolutions, particularly as it is showcasing the belovedPokémonmascot, Pikachu, in shining gold. Its similar card forSurging Sparksremains highly valued, which could prove to be a good sign for this one.
