A new month means a new set of raid bosses inPokémon GO, and April’s lineup is stacked as usual. Alongside the various events and special days this month, all of the Pokémon in the lineup will also be available in shiny form, so it’s an excellent month for grinding out those tough raids to chase your perfect shiny Pokémon. With the weather warming up (at least where I’m at), now is the perfect time to get outside and walk around to enjoy the sunshine with somePokémon GO.
This month includes a few raid boss debuts, the most exciting being Mega Audino. This never-before-seenMega Raid boss inPokémon GOwill bepart of the Might & Mastery event, which will take place on April 5 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time.Audino isn’t the strongest, but it’s so cute that I’ll catch one anyway. Whether you catch Mega Audino for the first time or chase after long-standing bosses, April is packed with excellent encounters waiting for you to step up to the challenge.

With Different Pokémon Coming To Different Locales, You Won’t Be Able To Catch ‘Em All
Early in the month,Pokémon GO’s Tapu Lelewill arrive at 5-Star raid locations in your area. The Fairy-/Psychic-type will know Nature’s Madness when caught, and can be countered in a few ways.

A datamine of Pokémon GO reveals that the game may be preparing to ramp up ads in the hands of Scopely, much to the concern of dedicated fans.
Up next comes a bit of a divide, with Stakataka appearing in the Eastern Hemisphere of the world and Blacephalon appearing in the Western, and these two Pokémon will hang around for almost two weeks. Finally, Cresselia appears to round out the month. Here are the dates of each raid boss’ arrival:
Cresselia
This set of bosses doesn’t feature many overlapping types, so ensure you’re prepared before heading into battle with a strong team.Stakataka and Blacephalon are both vulnerable to Ground and Water-types, so consider a Mega Lucario, Groudon, or Garchomp to tag in for these fights, while Necrozma, Tyranitar, and Gengar will make suitablecounters for Cresselialater on in the month.

The Hoenn Trio, Minus Marshtomp
Mega Mawile joins Mega Sceptile and Mega Blaziken in the rotation for Mega Raids this month on the following days:
Mega Mawile
Sceptile, in particular, has a whole host of weaknesses, with its most effective one being Ice-type Pokémon.Its Mega form is Dragon- and Grass-type, so a well-placed Ice-type attack from White Kyurem or Abomasnow can deal devastating damageand really trivialize the battle. Mega Blaziken will fall quickly to Pokémon like Kyogre, Swampert, and Mud Shot/Precipice blades Groudon, while Mega Mawile will be felled by the same Groudon combination.
Alongside the typical Mega rotation for April, look for Mega Audino on April 5. It will appear at Mega Raid locations from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time.
Mega Swampert appeared in March’s Raid rotation, and it’s odd to see that the rest of the Hoenn trio didn’t appear with him. However, its Grass and Fire-Type counterparts are appearing this April on the Mega raid main stage, so it’s finally time to grab the whole set before they’re gone.

A new kind of item in Pokémon GO may have been leaked, and it could be a stat-boosting tool that fans of the series might be familiar with.
Mawile is also a Hoenn original, though its Mega-evolution wasn’t introduced until Generation 6. Now, Mawile’s Mega form is returning toPokémon GO,and while it wasn’t on the list of thoseMega evolutions returning forPokémon Legends: Z-A, that doesn’t mean we won’t be seeing it.

Passimian Joins The Max Battle Roster
Max battles are a bit more common, which allows more and more Pokémon to be added to the lineup each month. This month,there are eleven Pokémon on the list, each appearing multiple times throughout the month. Here is where you can find each one:

Charmander, Pidove, Cryogonal, Wooloo, Falinks
Dynamax raids are a little different from other raids inPokémon GOin a few ways, the primary way being battle tempo. In Dynamax raids, you don’t use any of your normal attacks; instead, you build a Max Meter, which unlocks Max Moves to take down your foe. This month, Chansey and Caterpie reappear in Dynamax form, while Passimian is added to the list for the first time.
You can find Dynamax raids in plenty on Max Mondays, when a featured Max Pokémon will appear at every Max Raid location for an hour each Monday.
If you don’t get a chance to catch the Dynamax Pokémon you want, don’t worry.Each one appears twice, so look ahead and plan your time to grab the Pokémon you’re looking for before they’re out of rotation.It’s also likely that some of April’s roster will appear again in May, so you’ll have another shot in the future.

April’s Shadow Raid boss is the Legendary Pokémon Registeel.It’s weak to Fighting-, Fire-, and Ground-type moves, meaning that Primal Groudon will make an excellent ally in your battle against it.Additionally, consider Mega Lucario, Mega Y Charizard, and Mega Blaziken for your team, as their type combination and move pools make them particularly apt to take on the Titan of Steel.
