Built as a follow-up to the hugely popularPokémon GOFest, which takes place every year, Wild Area offers ahuge amount of content for trainers over the weekend. From bonuses, debuts, increased spawns, and even new mechanics inPokémon GO, Wild Area has something for everyone, making it a must-play.
The event coincides with another event in Fukuoka, butPokémon GOWild Area is available to all players regardless of location. The event is ticketed, and to take full advantage of all of the bonuses from Wild Area, you will need to buy one. However, everyone can play the majority of activities for free. During thisevent inPokémon GO, one of the biggest introductions will see the newGO Safari Balls make their first appearanceinPokémon GO. This is an addition to field research, special research, and collection challenges, which will all occur across the weekend. This time, it isDynamax Toxtricity, which can be obtained in Max Raids.Its base form, Toxel, was released this week in theInto The Wild eventbut required 400 candies to evolve it. However, by completing the latest Max Raid, trainers can get their hands on Toxtricity easily and add it to their collections. It is a four-star Max Raid, meaning multiple trainers will be needed to defeat it.

Ahead of the event, it is a good idea to get an appropriate Dynamax Pokémon leveled up as much as possible to give you the best chance to succeed.Toxtricity is an Electric- and Poison-type making it weak to Ground- and Psychic-type attacks. Of the Pokémon that are currently available, Dynamax Excadrill is by far your best option as a Ground-type. So, before the weekend, complete as manyDrilbur Max Raidsas possible to earn candies to power up Excadrill.
During the event, Toxtricity can also be found in Special Research reward encounters.
The event also sees theintroduction of Mighty Pokémon. While further individual Pokémon will not make full debuts, this is the first time we have seen this feature, and only select Pokémon have the potential to appear as Mighty during the event. These Pokémon will be more likely tohave high Attack, Defense, and HP ratings, are more likely to be XL or XXL,and, due to this, will be more challenging to capture. The above table confirms which Pokémon can appear across the two days of the GO Wild Area as Mighty Pokémon.

Alongside the new Mighty Pokémon that can appear during the event, a host of Electric- and Poison-type Pokémon will have increased spawn rates across the weekend. On Saturday and Sunday,two sets of Pokémon will change every hour, one representing Electic-types and the other Poison-types. While many of the Pokémon available are common, a number are not, including Hisuian Voltorb, Helioptile, Hisuian Qwilfish, and Paldean Wooper.

All of the increased wild spawns have a chance of being Shiny versions of Pokémon, so if you are missing any of these captures, Wild Area is the time to hunt them down.
To give yourself the best chance of catching a large number of Pokémon, there are several things you may do to prepare yourself for the event. Firstly, you shouldstock up on as many Poke Balls, Great Balls, and Ultra Balls as possible to avoid running out when you find a Pokémon you still need to capture.

For Max Raids, you will receive increased Max particles collected from power spots, and the daily limit will be increased to 3,200. Eggs once again played a key role in the event, with Toxel now available in 10KM eggs. In addition, ticketed players will only have to walk half the distance to hatch eggs while receiving 2x stardust, 2x XP, and 2X Candy for each egg hatched.

There are hundreds of Pokémon to catch in Pokémon GO, but some of them are rarer than others, like regional exclusives or Armored Mewtwo.
Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon are just two Pokémon appearing in Raids during the event. Ticketed holders will get more chances to complete raids, with up to 5 raid passes available from Spinning Gyms. An additional 5,000 XP will be earned for each raid completed, along with an additional Candy XL earned for each four-star or higher raid. Finally, ticket holders can make up to 6 special trades each day, have a reduced stardust cost for trades, and receive three GO Snapshot surprise encounters on both days.
