Warning! SPOILERS ahead for The White Lotus season 3, episode 5!WhileThe White Lotus’ guests tend to come to the titular resorts to relax and take a break from their chaotic lives back home, that’s rarely the case in the first three seasons of Mike White’s hit HBO show. Rather, each character group in the anthology series inevitably experiences a series of shocking personal revelations, confrontations, and life-threatening situations while on “vacation,” withone person tending to have the worst week of all. Of course, that person isn’t necessarily themysteryWhite Lotuscharacter who diesbefore the week is over.

InThe White Lotusseason 1, the battle for the worst week was arguably between Rachel, who questioned her entire marriage on her honeymoon, and the manager Armond, who ultimately died. During season 2, the worst week went toTanya (who also died) with Ethan as the runner-up, as his wife is implied to have cheated on him with his friend who insulted him all vacation.Without knowing who dies,The White Lotusseason 3 still has a few big contenders for who will have the worst vacation, but one character has doubtlessly taken the lead by episode 5.

Jason Isaacs' Timothy Is Having The Worst Week So Far Of Everyone In The White Lotus Season 3

Timothy’s Entire Life Has Fallen Apart In The Span Of A Few Days

It’s difficult to argue againstJason Isaacs’ Timothy Ratliff having the worst week at the White Lotus Thailand so far. Tim brought his family here for what he thought was a relaxing week while Piper did research for her college thesis, only to get a call on the first day there that his financial operations with Sho-Kel are being investigated by the FBI. As the week goes on,Tim finds out that he’s facing prison time, his family is going to be broke and lose everything they have, and his entire reputation will be soiled.

Why Tim Almost Does THAT In The White Lotus Season 3 Episode 5

The White Lotus season 3, episode 5 ends with Timothy almost making a life-changing decision, linking to his storyline from earlier episodes.

While hiding the news from his family and going on a sharp downward spiral, Tim started to steal Victoria’s Lorazepam and abuse the pills, stole a gun from the resort’s security office, and was seconds away from killing himself in episode 5’s ending. Not to mention, Tim’s daughter has been lying to them about why they came to Thailand, his intoxicated sons are being reckless and kissing each other at the Full Moon Party, and his wife is completely oblivious to his problems and seemingly doesn’t even know where they are (“Taiwan?”). It’s been quite a week for Tim.

Timothy Probably Won’t Be The One Who Dies In The White Lotus Season 3

The Show Has Already Put Too Much Emphasis On His Possible Death

It’s not an overstatement to suggest that this has been the worst week of Timothy Ratliff’s life. However, despite so many signs pointing toward such an outcome, it’s unlikely that it’ll be the end of it.The White Lotushas put too much focus on the possibility of Timdying for him to actually be the victim from season 3’s opening scene, making it seem more like a red herring. Plus, since Victoria interrupts and unknowingly stops Tim from fatally shooting himself inThe White Lotusseason 3, episode 5, he seemingly takes that as a sign to stay alive.
