Star Wars Rebels Timeline Explained: When Each Season Takes Place
From Ezra and the crew’s first meeting to Ahsoka and Sabine’s reunion, here’s when each Star Wars Rebels season takes place in the Star Wars timeline.
Rebels Villain Veris Hydan Is From Ossus, Legends' Jedi Homeworld
His job now makes a lot of sense because of this
Thousands of years before the prequels,Ossuswas believed to be the site of the first Jedi Temple. Perhaps more importantly, it was the home of the Great Jedi Library. After the planet’s destruction, it is thought that the Jedi went to Coruscant to build their new temple. This being the case has led many scholars like Hydan to guess that the planet has an abundance of knowledge regarding the Jedi. Even more interesting is the fact that Ossus is Hydan’s home planet. This could easily account for why he became so interested in Jedi lore.
Ossus was first mentioned in Legends in theDark Empirecomic series and first appeared inTales of the Jedicomics in 1994.

The ancient Jedi and Mortis gods are linked
While Ossus may not be the homeworld of the Jedi inStar Warscanon, it does still play a pivotal role, which makes Hydan’s connection to the planet even more significant.Ossus is the home of Luke Skywalker’s Jedi Academy, which has so far been seen in bothStar Wars: The Force AwakensandThe Book of Boba Fett- in addition to various books and comics. This is the Temple that’s destroyed the night Ben Solo truly falls to the dark side and becomes Kylo Ren. This connection to Hydan thus heightens its importance in canon even more.
When discussing the painting inRebels, Hydan says that the symbols from the painting are similar to those he found at the Coruscant Jedi Temple, indicating a connection between the ancient Jedi and Mortis. His own background with Jedi lore and artifacts as someone from Ossuspotentially establishes a deep connection between the Mortis gods and the ancient Jedi who left Ossus for Coruscant, especially if Hydan has such a piqued interest in the Mortis gods to begin with. Either way, this unexpectedStar Warsconnection hasn’t happened by accident, and it will likely have future ramifications.
