I hear these rumors as well [about a reboot], and I am available if they [want to do that]. I mean, I live around the corner from the creator, so I’m sure I’ll hear things. I’d love to go back. My whole life is kind of built around it. I mean, I married Prince Charming. His babies are my babies.

A Once Upon A Time Reboot Or Sequel Could Explore Unused Modern Disney Characters & Locations

There Is Unlimited Crossover Potential

In addition to exploring classic fairy tales and Disney characters like Snow White,Once Upon A Timealso incorporated characters from modern Disney movies, includingTangled’s Mother Gothel,Brave’s Merida, and nearly all the characters fromFrozen. If there is a reboot or sequel series, the show can provide its own take on modern Disney charactersthey were unable to incorporate at the time, or characters that debuted afterOnce Upon A Time’s ending. Having Gothel as a prominent villain in season 7 and multiple versions of Rapunzel made it surprising that Flynn Rider never appeared.

Whether it was Snow White being good friends with the mermaid Ariel, Frozen’s Anna teaching Prince Charming how to fight, or Mulan and Red Riding Hood/Ruby traveling to Oz, one of Once Upon A Time’s greatest strengths was always its imaginative crossovers.

Elements ofMoanawere utilized in season 7, specifically Maui’s fish hook, but none of the movie’s characters ever appeared.Moanais being adapted as a live-action movie, butOnce Upon A Timecould easily bring in its own versions of the characters, along with newer characters who will be introduced in the animatedMoana 2. Another Disney animated movie receiving a sequel,Zootopia, could also be intriguing to see in the world ofOnce Upon A Time, and would be a fun connection with Goodwin voicingZootopia’s Judy Hopps.

A reboot or sequel series couldbring in various locations from more recent Disney projects that would work well inOnce Upon A Time’s fantastical universe, includingElemental’s Element City or the kingdom of Rosas inWish. Whether it was Snow White being good friends with the mermaid Ariel,Frozen’s Anna teaching Prince Charming how to fight, or Mulan and Red Riding Hood/Ruby traveling to Oz, one ofOnce Upon A Time’s greatest strengths was always its imaginative crossovers. If the series is ever revived, even more tantalizing crossovers are now possible.
