The newStar Wars Encyclopediaconfirms a majorObi-Wan Kenobitheory, setting up the return of a major Legends Jedi.Obi-Wan Kenobiepisodes 2 and 3 saw the reclusive Jedi Master head to the planet Daiyu, where the con-man Haja arranged for a Force-sensitive child to escape to the planet Corellia. Attentive viewers noticed the child’s name was “Corran,” andimmediately suspected he was in fact the futureLegends Jedi Corran Horn. New evidence supports this theory, setting up Corran Horn for canon.

The recentStar Wars Encyclopedaconfirms Corran’s mother is named Nyche. As noted byNumidian Primeon Twitter, this corresponds with a call-sheet from the show - and, importantly, it’s the name of Corran Horn’s mother in Legends. Corran Horn is one of the most important members of Luke Skywalker’s Jedi Order in Legends, second only to Mara Jade in importance, making these references absolutely thrilling.

What Corran Horn In Canon Would Mean For Star Wars

A member of Luke’s Jedi Order in canon too?

In Legends, Corran grew up on Corellia as a member of Corellian Security (CorSec). He ultimately found his way to the Rebel Alliance, becoming a celebrated pilot in Rogue Squadron; Corran discovered his Force-sensitivity, and he eventually joined the Jedi Order. Corran was an unusual Jedi, because - by a genetic quirk - he lacked some typicalForce powers. He lacked telekinesis, which massively affected the way he operated in combat.

The prospect of seeing Corran Horn in canon is absolutely thrilling.

The prospect of seeing Corran Horn in canon is absolutely thrilling.Star Warsis still working on aRogue Squadronmovie, and he’d be the perfect fit for this - one of the most popular Legends pilots, and a brilliant way of adding the Force into the movie. He could easily go on to become a member ofLuke Skywalker’s Jedi Order, just as he did in Legends.

Our Take On Corran Horn In Canon

He’d be the perfect addition to the Jedi

As an old-school fan who grew up with the oldStar WarsExpanded Universe, I couldn’t be more excited about the prospect of meeting an adult Corran Horn in canon. He played a key role in Mike Stackpole’s fantasticRogue Squadronbooks, going on to become a player in the “New Jedi Order” arc - most notably in Stackpole’s “Dark Tide” duology. These are among my favoriteStar Warsbooks, wonderful meditations on the Force, and Corran’s abilities - including his lack of telekinesis - made him an exciting window into the Force.

So far,Star Warscanon has been reluctant to revealmembers of Luke’s Jedi Order. In part, that’s because their ultimate fate has already been revealed; they are sadly destined to be slaughtered when Ben Solo falls to the dark side. Sadly, that does mean that Corran’s canonStar Warsstory is likely to end in a far more tragic manner than his Legends version.
