NCIS: Originsshowrunner David J. North has previewed Mike Franks' story in the back half of season 1, revealing what his next mission is going to be. Franks was first portrayed by Muse Watson in the original show, appearing as a guest star in seasons 3 through 13, and season 15. On thecast ofNCIS: Origins, the Special Agent is portrayed by Kyle Schmid, acting as team leader in the various cases Camp Pendleton is tasked with. He also has important connections with people outside his team, with his girlfriend, Tish (Tonantzin Carmelo), being his primary relationship.
Speaking withTVLine, North revealed thatFranks' upcoming story in the last half ofNCIS: Originsseason 1 will focus on his hunt for the person who assaulted Tish, leaving her with the psychological trauma she’s currently dealing with. The showrunner explained how the Special Agent isn’t able to just leave the situation alone, indicating he’ll be actively pursuing this person when the show comes back.
