As soon as the image was released, fans began asking for a side story revolving around the beloved character.

Horikoshi Surprises Fans With Beautiful Mirko Portrait
Mirko’s Elegant Side Has Been Successfully Portrayed
On April 2, Horikoshi shared an original illustration with fans on his personal X (formerly Twitter) account. The picture shows Mirko, one of the strongest and most popularwomen in theMy Hero Academiaseries, smiling at the camera with excited eyes. Her white hair blows in the wind, going across her head and to the side, demonstrating the author’s mastery of the art. The style used by Horikoshi is not one fans are used to, as it is several times more detailed and delicate than the one used in his manga.
My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Episode #1 Release Date & Time
My Hero Academia’s official prequel story, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, is getting an anime, and here’s when the first episode will officially drop.
The sketch is beautifully done, with smooth colors, clear strokes, and a pallet that brings attention to the character. Horikoshi’s use of light is also incredibly well executed, with the image appearing as if it is truly emanating light from its surroundings. Its effect on Mirko’s character is also impressive, as the artist took his time figuring out how such a bright light would contrast with the skin of Mirko, who is depicted as a person of color in the manga. Overall, the piece is an amazing and awe-inspiring tribute to such a beloved character.

Fans Wish To See Mirko In Action Again
A Spin-Off Based On Her Story Would Be Beyond Exciting
One of the biggest effects Horikoshi’s recent illustration of Mirko had on the community was the sudden spike in interest in a series revolving around her character. Rumi Usagiyama, as she’s known outside of Hero work, is by far one of the most iconic characters in the series, being known for her unbreakable will and resilience. When she was first introduced, fans immediately took a liking to her, and her amazing fights against the High-End Nomus and Shigaraki are still among thebest inMy Hero Academia.
Viewers have been voicing their interest in knowing more about her past and early years as a hero for a long time. Her backstory could have become an incredibly well-received prequel to the original series, giving fans a better understanding of how Hero Society worked before Deku. It would also serve as a way to tell the story of the previous generation of heroes as students of U.A. Academy, a tie without chaos and destruction at every turn due to All For One’s plans. There’s little room for doubt that aMy Hero Academiaprequel focused on Mirko would be a massive success.
