ThisStar Warsart perfectly represents what makesStar Wars: Skeleton Crewso special: the band of adorable heroes comprising Wim, Fern, KB, and Neel.Skeleton Crewis the newest addition toStar Warsmovies and TV shows, and it has proven to be quite popular in its first six episodes. Part of what has made the show such a hit isSkeleton Crew’scast of characters, especially the kids.

This beautifulSkeleton Crewart depicting Fern, Wim, Neel, and KB standing together, posted bycuriouszhion Instagram, captures just how precious these characters are. While Grogu undoubtedly remains one ofStar Wars’most adorable characters, these kids are giving him a run for his money, especially because of their heroic, brave, and compassionate personalities.

These newStar Warscharacters are so much more than just a cute group of kids, though—they represent exactly the type of heroesStar Warshas long been known for.

What The Skeleton Crew Cast Means For Star Wars

Skeleton Crew’s Kids Are A Return To Form

From the very beginning,Star Warscentered on characters who were unlikely heroes who ultimately became greater than their origins. This was certainly true of Luke Skywalker, who began as a young starry-eyed farm boy from a little-known desert planet. What made Luke Skywalker so exceptional in the original trilogy, though, was his selflessness and his bravery in the face of the massive and seemingly impenetrable Empire.

Like Luke, the kids ofSkeleton Crewhave shown incredible bravery, despite growing up without any sort of preparation for all they are now experiencing. This is perhaps even truer for this group of kids than it was for Luke, given they grew up on At Attin, a planet that is so hidden and far removed from the rest of the galaxy that the children were all unaware of the Galactic Civil War. In spite of this sheltered upbringing, Neel, KB, Fern, and Wim have all faced threats from pirates and droids with incredible fortitude.

Our Take On Skeleton Crew’s Kids

These New Characters Are Absolutely Fantastic

Like most viewers,I adore theSkeleton Crewcharacters, the kids in particular. In the most recent episode, “Zero Friends Again,” Fern, Wim, Neel, and KB confirmed that they were among thebestStar Warscharacters introduced in 2024. In this episode, KB’s personality was finally shown (as most of the kids' characterization had focused on Wim, Fern, and Neel up until that point), and it was an incredible turning point. Specifically, KB highlighted that it was important for her friends to understand that she is different.

This was a brilliant moment for disability representation inStar Wars, as KB’s frustrations stemmed from Fern’s insistence that KB could do anything Fern could do, which led her to push KB too far. This is just one of many examples of theSkeleton Crewkids bringing important topics and new storylines toStar Wars. ThisStar Warsart really does perfectly capture how adorable theStar Wars: Skeleton Crewcharacters are and how excellent they have been as brand-new additions to the franchise.
