Although he has only held two major television roles, McCallany has appeared in many prominent movies since his last appearance on Netflix. However, he also played Anderson in Guillermo del Toro’sNightmare Alley, Bullet inWrath of Man, and Twin Otter Pilot inGreenland.

Although he has appeared in a variety of characters and mediums, these roles have all prepared him for his return to Netflix inThe Waterfront. The complicated characters he has played have likely honed the skills that will allow him to bring the toughness and vulnerability of his real-life character to the screen in equal measure.
