There have been tons ofVenomhosts over the years, includingSpider-Man; it’s not too surprising to see that Venom has found a new host, but the symbiote has chosen the last person anyone would expect, as readersdiscovered that Marvel’s newest Venomis none other thanMary Jane Watson.
Spider-Man: Reign2 #2 – by writer and artist Kaare Andrews and colorist Brian Reber – finds Spider-Man thrown into the past, but it’s not the one he remembers. This world seems to be absurdly dark, with the supervillains stating that they killed all of their heroes long ago. While this is already upsetting information, things get much worse.
By the end of the issue, it is revealed thatMary Jane has become this world’s version of Venom, and she proves to be a major threat to Spider-Man, as their reunion goes far from how he would have hoped.

Sent back in time, Peter thinks it’s his chance to save her, but it turns out, he just might need saving from her. As Spider-Man raced through the city of this twisted New York, the only thing on his mind was saving Mary Jane, but that’s unfortunately not what happened.
The reasons why Mary Jane took on the Venom symbiote are currently entirely unknown, but it seems like somehow, Spider-Man was responsible for the death ofthis timeline’s Peter Parker, which droveMary Jane to become Venom. Mary Jane transforming into Venom completely changes the dynamic between her and Peter.
