Warning: Contains SPOILERS for The Amazing Spider-Man #70!Cain Marko isn’t the onlyJuggernautin the Marvel Universe anymore, as another iconic superhero has been gifted the same unstoppable power to becomeMarvel’s all-new Juggernaut. While a new Juggernaut usually means an old one was replaced, that’s not the case in this instance, as Marvel’s new Juggernaut is working right alongside the original - and that’s the best decision Marvel could have made in this situation.

Thankfully, when Spider-Naut jumped into action in this preview, he didn’t do so as a replacement for the original Juggernaut - quite the opposite, in fact. The original Juggernautwas in the middle of battling a seemingly unstoppable foe when Spider-Naut joined the battle, and the two Juggernauts immediately teamed up to fight the villain together, combining their immense strength to take the bad guy down once and for all - or, at least attempt to.

How Spider-Man Became Marvel’s New Juggernaut

Spider-Man Has Been Involved with Cyttorak for Some Time

While the idea of Spider-Man with Juggernaut’s powers is undeniably awesome, it’d be understandable if some fans were left wondering: how? Well, that answer can be found by looking back at the8 Deaths of Spider-Manstory arc, throughout which Spider-Man has been tangling with Cyttorak and his Scions. After Doctor Doom became Sorcerer Supreme, he made Spider-Man the Champion of Earth, tasking him with defeating the Scions of Cyttorak before they took over the world.

Juggernaut Just Proved He’s Omega Level Whether Marvel Admits It or Not

Everyone knows the Juggernaut is insanely powerful, but not Omega-Level powerful! But now, he’s proven himself as an actual Omega-Level powerhouse.

After one of Cyttorak’s children merged with an unstoppable, otherworldly power called the Blight, Spider-Man was killed - dying at the feet of Cyttorak himself in the Crimson Cosmos. However, Spider-Man’s death wouldn’t last very long, as the power of the Crimson Cosmos flooded Spider-Man’s corpse, transforming him into Marvel’s new Juggernaut. Now, Spider-Naut and the original Juggernaut are teaming up to beat the Scion that killed Spider-Man, and in doing so, they will save the entire world.

Spider-Naut is the Latest Member of Juggernaut’s Ever-Growing ‘Family’

A Great Number of ‘New Juggernauts’ Have Been Introduced in Marvel Comics

Spider-Man might be the newestJuggernaut who’s not Cain Markoin Marvel Comics, but he’s far from the first - even when considering pre-existing heroes (or villains) who took on the role. Colossus famously became the Juggernaut during the Fear Itself event, Mystique recently used her shapeshifting powers to become the Juggernaut and gain all his powers (something unique to that instance), and even Howard the Duck once claimed the role of the Juggernaut (in a different reality, but still). And that’s not even considering Kid Juggernaut, J2, or The Survivor.

In other words, Juggernaut’s ‘family’ is growing, and Spider-Man has become the latest member. And the coolest part? Spider-Naut isn’t here to replace the originalJuggernaut, but rather fight alongside him - and fans should be very excited about what comes next.
