InMarvel Rivals, Groot is a strong hero known for his ability to take damage and control the battlefield. He focuses on building walls as barriers and strategic points to influence the enemy’s movements. These walls are great for defense but could also set up strategic offensive plans. By placing these walls wisely, Groot can manage where enemies go and create good opportunities for his team.
Groot also has some offensive skills that work well with his walls. His attacks can hit multiple enemies simultaneously, especially if they are grouped together. His ultimate ability is very powerful, allowing him totake out several opponents simultaneously, which is crucial in team fights. Though he isn’t swift, Groot’s ability to control the game and stay alive makes him an important part of any team. It’s great thatMarvel Rivalsfixed theAvengersissues, but that doesn’t make playing the characters easier.

How To Use Groot’s Ultimate
When Can You Use The Ultimate?
Groot’s ultimate ability, Strangling Prison, is a strong crowd control move that can disrupt the enemy team inMarvel Rivals. To use the ultimate, you need to either wait for it to load up or do damage to enemies to speed up the loading process. Once the Ultimate is ready, pressing Q will activate it, but be warned that once done, it will need to load up again.
Marvel Rivals Deadpool & Wolverine Costume Slashes The Last Reveal To Shreds
A new costume reveal for Marvel Rivals is a much more exciting take on Wolverine than his default appearance, and it might tease more to come.
To use it effectively, you need to time it right;don’t just press Qas soon as it’s ready; aim for a group. When you activate it, a big cluster of vines will pull enemies in a certain area toward the center, trapping them for a short time. While trapped, they can’t move or use their abilities to escape. However, keep in mind that Strangling Prison doesn’t deal much damage compared to other ultimates; its main job is to control the enemy.

ensure to grab thefree costume inMarvel Rivalsbefore time runs out.
Look for important targets, like healers or fastdamage dealers that are close together, and try to catch them in the vines. Focus on enemies who could really disrupt your team. By trapping a group of enemies, your teammates can concentrate their attacks on them, leading to more damage and better chances of getting kills before they break free.

Best Team Composition For Groot
Groots Best Allies
To form the best team for Groot inMarvel Rivals, you should focus on his strengths—being tough, controlling battlefield areas, and creating obstacles—while pairing him with teammates that cover his weaknesses, like low speed and lower damage against single targets. Although teaming up with Rocket Raccoon gives you extra damage and healing, it can limit your options in battle.
A better strategy would involve choosing heroes who can take advantage of the control Groot offers. A solid team should includeGroot, Namor, Rocket, and Hela. Feel free to fill in the final spots withMarvel Rival’s Iron Man, Captain America, or Hulk. The ones that matter are the ones who can complement Groot the best, which is Namor. There aren’t many Rocket Racoon players right now, so it’s less likely you’ll get him.

Unless you know your teammates personally, you’ll not likely get the perfect team combo. So make sure to hang back while the damage dealers do their job and attack from a distance.
Namor is fast, so he can quickly sneak around enemies caught by Groot’s barriers and pack a punch against those trapped in Groot’s Strangling Prison. Hela, with strong area attacks, is great at taking out groups of enemies corralled by Groot’s walls, enhancing his control of the battlefield. Since Groot is more of a supporting character, it’s better to team up with characters likeCaptain America or Hulk, who can lead the charge.

How To Effectively Use Groot
To play Groot effectively inMarvel Rivals, you need to know what he’s good at and where he struggles.Groot is not very mobile, so finding good spots on the battlefield is important. Stick with your team instead of going off on your own so you can provide support and make the most of his area-of-effect damage.
Who’s your favorite character in Marvel Rivals?
Marvel Rivals has officially launched on PC and consoles. Featuring 6v6 battles with over 33 different playable heroes and villains, there are so many characters to choose from. That being said, some of my favorite heroes so far have been Moon Knight, Wolverine, and Scarlet Witch. Each one features incredibly unique gameplay, and I’ve really been vibing with all three of them so far.
Make sure touse your walls(Ironwood and Thornlash) wisely. Instead of waiting to react, set them up in advance to create chokepoints, funnel paths for enemies, or block their escape routes. When your walls are awakened, they become much more powerful, so try to stay near them during fights to get the best advantage.

If you’ve playedFortnite, you know how smart it is to practice wall placement. Practice with Groot so you’re faster at it.
Positioning matters for Strangling Prison. You don’t have to be perfect, but try to think about how the enemies might move. Using Strangling Prison in tight spaces or near walls can make it harder for them to escape. While it won’t guarantee a kill, it’s a high-reward, high-risk move that can turn the tide of a battle if used well. Remember, it’s all about setting up for your team’s follow-up attacks inMarvel Rivals.
