Marvel Comics has delivered dozens of newSpider-ManandVenomadventures throughoutthe publisher’s vast Multiverse, and now, the Spider-Verse and Venomverse will collide in an all-out war for the survival of both. The Spider-Society, which protects the Web of Life and Destiny from external and internal threats, and the Symbiote Hive Mind, connecting every symbiote across the Multiverse together, will soon become each other’s greatest threats.

As announced by Marvel,Web of Spider-Verse: New BloodandWeb of Venomverse: Fresh Brains– both featuring creative teams stacked with all-star Marvel writers and artists – will be an interconnected crossover event, which is set tofeature the debut of even more new variants of Spider-Man and Venom,while also crafting a story with major consequences for both corners of the Marvel Multiverse.

Marvel Comics interviewed theNew Blood’screators, gifting some insight into the vision for the limited series and what parts of their project they were the most excited about. As author Mat Groom stated:

Crashing these worlds together is a genuine honor and a privilege— and it gives us an opportunity to push both sides to the breaking point, so we can all discover whether the Spider and Symbiote communities hold strong against the oncoming storm… or if they crack under the pressure!

The series’ primary artist, Luciano Vecchio, who most recently provided his talents in Marvel’sStorm (2024)ongoing series, promises a return to both series' more classic characters ,while introducing a a full cast of new ones.“This time emphasis is in VERSUS!”he told Marvel Comics. It looks like this is going to be a series of adrenaline-fueled spectacles, emphasizing the combat between the two multiverses.

As the Venom-Verse and Spider-Verse collide, Marvel shows off three fascinating new versions of Spider-Man who will be on the frontlines of this war.

Web of Spider-Verse: New Bloodintroduces three new Spideys to the growingcollection of Spider-Man variants. Leading the charge is Count Parker, a vampiric Spider-Man, followed by Spider-Prowler and Spider-Hulk. As expected fromall Spider-Man variants,the newest trio is instantly eye-catching, especially Count Parker. This version of Peter Parker looks to be a more lethal take on the character, taking note of his pale vampiric flesh and blood-soaked spider-webbing. Fans of theInto the Spider-Versefilms should also look forward to Spider-Prowler, a fantastic addition considering the overwhelmingly positive reaction to the Miles variant featured in the film series.

While 616 Venom lore has been expanding in all-new ways over the years, here we get a chance to focus on a quintessential Lethal Protector Venom, for those who missed him.

Vecchio is referring to a new Venom variant that is sure to excite fans of thecharacter’s classic run from the ‘90s. Alongside Venomouse and a variant of Katie Power, isa vintage version of Eddie Brock and Venom who never gave up the title of “Lethal Protector” or their appetite for brains.While the “King in Black” era did a fantastic job at expandingVenom’s greater mythology, it’ll be nice to return to the classic iteration of the character.
