Married At First Sightseason 18’s been a wild ride so far, as the experts have really outdone themselves. Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Dr. Pia Holec, and Pastor Cal Roberson have once againput together mind-boggling matches.
They’d be better off using the signs of the zodiac to match couples, or pulling names out of a hat.

At present, their top secret algorithm for matching duos seems more like a formula that’s been secretly engineered to guarantee the most intense level of heartache and humiliation. Through the seasons, only 12 couples are still together. Michelle and David andEmem and Ikechi Ojuré may break up. While the experts deserve some blame, the cast members do too, including Michelle and Emem.
Michelle Keeps Trying To Change Her “Mama’s Boy” Partner
Nothing He Does Is Ever Good Enough
David lives at home with his mom, and that “offense” hasn’t gone unnoticed. After their trip to the altar, Michelle hastily turned on her new “forever” match, calling him out for being a mama’s boy. Do men who love their mothers have the sorts of traits that make them great partners? Usually, but Michelle doesn’t care. Her words and actions are brutal. As far as Michelle’s concerned, he might as well have “loser” tattooed on his forehead.
In her opinion, there’s no excuse for a grown man to be living with his mother. She clearly wants a partner with more money and ambition. In fact, it seems like Michelle doesn’t see many (or any) good qualities in the man she derisively calls a:

mama’s boy.
He’s probably already sensitive about being with his parents, even though he helps them to run the business they own. So, when she pours salt in the wound, she exposes herself as a true diva. What could be worse than a partner poking at every issue that a person has, and just making them feel worse? Not much.
David should run for the hills. This isn’t going to get any better. If, in the first flush of “romance,” she’salready delivering the psychological equivalent of body blows, it does not bode well.Michelle’s haughty, and she doesn’t have much respect for her “husband.”
Emem Is Such A Fiery Woman
She May Be Too Much For Her Meek Mate
Emem really loses it, and while it’s easy to be in awe of a woman so fierce that she’ll unload with complete abandon, the types of tantrums that she throws often raze the landscape, rendering it inhabitable. She’s the H-bomb that explodes, causing the kind of catastophic damage that can’t be repaired anytime soon, or ever.
So, when she derided her new husband for ignoring her messages, in a blistering tirade that included a harsh diss of his"joker a*s suit,“it seemed like the final nail in the coffin.
Yes, there’s spoilers out there, but they’e not a sure thing, and right now, no one knows for sure if Emem and Ikechi make it work. However, based on their terrible dynamic, there is so little hope. Marrying a stranger has a novelty element, but it’s really an emotional minefield. As couples move through the process of trying to be spouses to people they don’t know at all, it’s all too easy to put a foot wrong.
Michelle Is Way Too Harsh
She’s Arrogant Sometimes
Michelle is ultimately the bigger diva, who criticizes every move her poor husband makes, and even puts down his eating habits, as per theLifetimeclip shown above. She has less reason to emotionally abuse her mate. While David’s not perfect, he doesn’t need to be put down by a woman like Michelle, whose ego is clearly major.Emem has more reasons for her outbursts, as Ikechi’s already made her feel like she’ll never be the dainty creature he wants.
What a hot mess. This is some drama. AsMarried At First Sightseason 18 continues, it’s safe to say that these two couples will hit more turbulence. They’re probably destined to crash and burn. However, that may be for the best.
Married At First Sightairs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on Lifetime.
