As of the most recent PlayStation State of Play, the long-awaited DLC forLies of Phas received a new trailer, revealing new gameplay footage and a release window. Originally released in September 2023 and developed by Neowiz Games,Lies of Pquickly became one of the most positively received Soulslikes to not be developed by genre originator FromSoftware. After the game’s release, it was announced that it would be receiving DLC, but little had been heard since.
As revealed in a new trailer shown during thePlayStationState of Play on February 12,Lies of P’s DLC will be titledOverture, and is set for release at an unspecified date in Summer 2025. The brief trailer, which shows off new areas, bosses, weapons, and abilities, gives a few vague hints about the story, implying thatOverturewill be set in a different time period from the main game, with most of the areas on display taking on a winter theme.

Everything We Know About Lies Of P Overture
The New Trailer For Lies Of P’s DLC Shows Off New Areas, Enemies, & Weapons
While the trailer is mostly vague about the potential story ofOverture, the video description on YouTube confirms the DLC is a prequel to the main game.Overturestill features the puppet Pinocchio as the main playable protagonist, but will provide players withseveral new weapon options, including - as can be seen in the trailer - a bow, a large sword that can make use of a powerful ranged attack, claws, and a light sword which can attack with several rapid slashes.
Lies Of P’s Reported Follow-Up Could Succeed Where A 2022 Survival Horror Flop Failed
There’s a rumored follow-up game to Lies of P from developer Round8, but can it survive where others like it have ultimately failed to keep up?
Along with new options for players, the trailer forOverturealso puts on display several new enemies and bosses to use them on. The main boss, who also seems to be an important story figure, isa blue-skinned woman in control of a flying puppet, who can be seen fighting with a sort of dual ball-and-chain weapon later in the trailer. Oher potential bosses and enemies include a large, multi-limbed Carcass monster, a giant infected shark, a human-sized opponent wielding a large hammer, and some smaller Carcass enemies.

Lies Of P’s DLC Looks Even Flashier Than The Main Game
Overture Looks Like It’s Going To Push Lies Of P’s Combat To The Limit
While the base game ofLies of Pcouldn’t exactly be called tame,Overturedoes look like it’s pushing the title in an even flashier, more action-oriented direction, most notably with Pinocchio performing a multiple-seconds long attack near the end of the trailer that looks more like a move out ofDevil May CrythanDark Souls. At the same time, while the hints towards the DLC’s story are vague, it does look like it might tackle some loose ends left from the base game, including what looks like Alidoro crashing through a window in a cutscene.
Unfortunately, there’s still a while to wait before the release ofLies of P’s DLC, butOverture’s first trailer should still give fans a taste of what to expect when it finally launches in Summer 2025, especially afterpastLies of PDLC updates. Hopefully,Overturecan live up to the high quality standards set byLies of P’s base game, and deliver on the exciting combat promised by the trailer.
