John Cenaunloaded 25 years of frustrationon theWWEUniverse on Monday’s edition ofWWE Rawin Brussels, Belgium. The 16-time world champion opened the show with his typical presentation still intact, buthe wasted no time in showing how much his attitude had changed. Cena claimed to bethe victim of an abusive relationshipwith the WWE fans, saying all they’ve ever been is hurtful.
“You are making this so easy,” Cena said. “For 25 years, I’ve been a part of an abusive relationship. All you do is be hurtful, all you are is abusive, and all you do is bully me into being your puppet and expect me to do it with a smile on my face. No more.”
He then recapped the entirety of his career, reflecting on even when he repackaged himself, won the biggest stages over and over and spent a decade giving back to the industry it was never enough. Cena even went so far as tocall out the “invisible” memethat has followed him for so long, calling it stupid. The 16-time world champion then claimed thefans had already “ruined” his year-long retirement touras they were all so focused on what they’d get out of it rather than ask how Cena felt about stepping away from the industry he loves.

Fans Hoping For A New Look Were Denied
A common talking point after Cena’s heel turn atElimination Chamberwas what might change about his presentation going forward. He discussed in previous interviews how, back when a heel turn was initially pitched in 2012, it would include him ditching the jorts and matching merchandise set and switching up his theme music. ButCena dashed those ideas outright.
“You don’t get a new look. You dress like me, I don’t dress like you idiots. You don’t get new music. That’s my voice on that song. Your time is up and my time is finally thing is now. The only thing you get is a long look in the mirror to see how awful you’ve been to me.”
He finished his monologue by calling out all fans, whether they claim to support him or hate him. Cena said this has been an abusive relationship, but that it’s over now. The WWE Universe can consider themselves “dumped.”

Rhodes Promised To Cut Cena’s Retirement Tour Short
Rhodes finally arrived to a thunderous ovation from the crowd. He defended the fans for their actions, saying they knew Cena was always great and that he could handle anything they threw at him. He then turned his attention to their match atWrestleMania 41, saying that in spite of what happened atElimination Chamberhe was still looking forward to facing Cena. But he didn’t see the “real” Cena in front of him, and if this version were to show up at WrestleManiahe’d be sure to cut Cena’s retirement tour short.
WWE Reportedly Turned Down The Rock’s Pitch To Turn Cody Rhodes Heel Before John Cena
Despite WWE’s Elimination Chamber changing wrestling history, turning John Cena heel reportedly wasn’t The Rock’s original plan.
Rhodes left the ring after posing with the WWE Championship on the apron. Cena refused to say another word, dropping his microphone and staring at the crowd in disgust before walking up the entrance ramp. Cena and Cody will clash on April 20 atWrestleMania 41in Las Vegas.WWE Rawcommentator Michael Cole, clearly furious over what Cena had said, gave the last word on the matterby calling him an “irrational prick.”
