The Masked Singerseason 13’sGroup C contestant Cherry Blossom was unmasked during Carnival Night, and she was revealed to be award-winning actress, author, and former co-host ofThe View, Candace Cameron Bure.The Masked Singerseason 13 welcomed back host Nick Cannon, along with panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, and Rita Ora. During the Group C premiere, Candace made her debut as Cherry Blossom, along with Nessy, Mad Scientist Monster, Stud Muffin, and Yorkie, who’ve all moved on to Boy BandNight.
DuringThe Masked Singerseason 13Carnival Night,Candace sang a spectacular rendition of Jennifer Lopez’s hit song,“Let’s Get Loud,” during which she danced and got the crowd on their feet.She stumped all of the panelists, none of whom were able to guess her true identity. Before Candace was unmasked, theMasked Singerpanelists gave their final guesses about who she might be. They included Tracey Gold (Robin), Jessica Biel (Rita), Tina Fey (Ken), and Jennie Garth (Jenny). When Cherry Blossom was unmasked and revealed to be Candace, the panelists were all shocked.

Candace revealed that she’d turned downThe Masked Singerthree times before she finally said yes to season 13. She shared,“I had a great time on the show. It was so scary for me to do. I actually turned down the show three times. This was the fourth time they asked me to do it. And I finally said yes because I was just so nervous about it. But I’m really glad that I said yes.”
Candace admitted that she wished that she could’ve advanced tothe next round ofThe Masked Singerbecause she enjoyed being on the show so much. She said,“I loved being Cherry Blossom. I really wish that I could’ve made it through another week just to have embodied her in that costume again, because I just loved it.”

Candace also shared that her Cherry Blossom costume had a special significance to her. She explained,“They presented it to me, and I fell in love with it. I have so many pictures of cherry blossoms on my Instagram because we have cherry blossoms around where we live, and I shoot in British Columbia. I shoot a lot of my movies there. So the cherry blossoms are gorgeous and just always blooming. And when they told me I would be Cherry Blossom, I was ecstatic.”

Candace also loved the Cherry Blossom costume because it was easy for her to move around in it. She pointed out that“it was a costume that was much like a real outfit. It wasn’t cumbersome, and it was a beautiful dress [that looked] like a tree. And so I felt like, ‘Oh, this is great ‘cause I’ll be able to move in it.’ I was also nervous about that, just having the big mask on. But having a costume that was more tailored and fitted was a comfort factor for me.”
Candace Chose “Let’s Get Loud” For An Important Reason
“I Felt Like It Hit In My Sweet Spot And I Could Perform It And Not Crash And Burn…”
Candace shared that she chose herMasked SingerCarnival Night song, “Let’s Get Loud,” because it was easy for her to sing. She said,“Well, they give you a bunch of options. And it was Carnival Week. And so I thought, this is kind of the perfect song for me because, vocally, it wasn’t too difficult because I’m not a singer.”
Candace continued,“And that was my big fear … was just singing in front of a whole lot of people and on live television. So I didn’t want to embarrass myself. So I felt like this was a really fun ‘pump it up’ song. Just have a great time without being too challenging for me. I felt like it hit in my sweet spot and I could perform it and not crash and burn.”

Candace Revealed That ‘We Are Family’ Gave Her The Push She Needed To Say Yes To The Masked Singer
“It Made Me Feel More Comfortable Having That Experience…”
In January 2024,Candace appeared on another mystery celebrity singing competition series,We Are Family, in which celebrity relatives sang with their famous family members, who were hidden behind a screen. The audience was then given clues to guess their identities. When asked if singing“Hot Stuff”by Donna Summer onWe Are Familywith her cousin, Kenzie,helped prepare her forThe Masked Singer, she said,“It really did. Had I not done that show, I would probably have said no a fourth time to the Masked Singer. Yeah, ‘cause that is something that I’m not comfortable doing.”
Candace continued,“And when I did the other show with my cousin, I did it for my cousin. I said yes to her, but that kind of gave me the little push that I needed to say, ‘Okay, I can do this.’ And so it made me feel more comfortable having that experience.”

Like, you’re gonna be great. Have so much fun.’ And she would help me rehearse. And it was a good time.”

Candace Admitted She Was More Nervous Competing On The Masked Singer Than Dancing With The Stars
“There Was Just So Much Growth In That Experience…”
In 2014, Candace placed third onDancing With The Starsseason 18, along with her professional dance partner, Mark Ballas. Although she said that both shows were challenging,she confessed that she was much more nervouswhile competing onThe Masked SingerthanDancing With The Stars.She shared,“Oh my goodness. Well, they were both really challenging. I mean, I think because I went so far on Dancing With The Stars to get into the finals, I think I was expecting I was at least gonna go to the second week, maybe the third on Masked Singer.”
Candace continued,“So, just being the first one off in my group was a little bit abrupt. You know, I wish I had had a few more weeks to just perform and have more fun with the show ‘cause it really is so great. But I would definitely say that I was way more nervous on The Masked Singer, even though I was nervous on Dancing with the Stars.”

Candace explained,“But, because you got to go week to week to week, there was just so much growth in that experience that it was incredible. But this was like … Masked Singer was one and done for me.”
Candace Was Hoping To Make It To Boy Band Night

She said,“And then the package that they had … all of the clues were really geared towards Robin, because Robin and I have known each other since we were kids. And he was my first crush. And, you know, all of the things. So it would have been super cute. And I feel like Robin would have probably had a good idea that it was me had I made it one more week.”When Candace was unmasked, Robin revealed that he and Candace were even boyfriend and girlfriend for a week when they were 13 years old.

“I Love That He Guessed Tina Fey…”
Candace loved theMasked Singerpanelists’ wrong guesses for her identity. Jenny had guessed Jennie Garth, while Ken thought that she was Tina Fey. Candace said,“Jennie Garth was a good one. I love that he guessed Tina Fey. I’m like, ‘I’ll take Tina Fey.’ I thought that was great.”
However, Candace pointed out that Rita’s guess of Jessica Biel didn’t match her height. She said,“I mean, she’s incredible. But I look at, like, I know my height. And they even pointed it out when I came out. They’re like, ‘Oh, she’s a little thing,’ ‘cause I’m a shorty. And, you know, Jessica Biel is a lot taller. So even [with] that, there were some clues into thinking short people [laughs].”

Candace reminisced about when she first realized that Bob was onThe Masked Singer. She shared,“I loved when I watched Bob on the show. I didn’t even know. I had turned it on randomly. And that first note out of his mouth, I knew it was Bob. And I started screaming. And I called him right away. I’m like, ‘Are you on the Masked Singer right now?’ And he was very diplomatic because of the contracts. And he’s like, ‘I can’t tell you.’ And I was like, ‘I know you are. I know you are! The fact that you’re not saying it. But I know your voice. And I know that song. You sing it all the time.’”

Candace had some ideas about which of her co-stars should joinThe Masked Singerin the future. FromFull House, she choseJohn Stamos, who played her Uncle Jesse. She said,“I feel like everybody should go do it [laughs]. I think just because of the fact that I pushed myself to do it. I’m like, ‘Everyone should go do it!’ But I’d love to see John Stamos on it. He’s been on Broadway. So I feel like he would be a really fun guess on there.”
Candace also chose one of her fellow Hallmark stars,Kristin Chenoweth, who’s also a Broadway legend, tocompete onThe MaskedSinger. She said,“One person I really want to see because she’s incredible–she’ll probably be guessed right away because her voice is so specific, like so gorgeous and unique–is Kristin Chenoweth. But she’s one of the people I would love to see on ‘cause she could start singing opera and like all kinds of stuff. It would be so fun to watch.”
Candace Might Have A Future On Broadway
“I Dreamed About It…”
As for her own future with singing and performing,when asked if she’s ever thought about starring in a Broadway show, Candace replied,“I dreamed about it. I don’t know that I would have the confidence to do it, but, you know, Broadway is something I think about in 10 years, honestly. Like who knows?”
Candace continued, “I’ve never done theater before ever, but it could be another great thing in my career just to, again, push another boundary that I haven’t done. It would still have to be minimal singing [laughs].”
