Summary

I cannot believe that Paramount is still ignoring the rich storytelling potential ofHonor Among Thieves 2. Though my passion for Dungeons & Dragons came a bit later in life, the intricate world-building and possibility for storytelling have captured my imagination ever since I started playing. That possibility was truly showcased inHonor Among Thievesas each characterhelped further the larger story while still organically making time for each of their arcs.It truly felt like a real campaign that still had a lot of story left to telleven after the credits rolled.

Honor Among Thieves’ending, while satisfying in regards to most of the character arcs, still left a lot up in the air for a sequel. Between the continued threat of the Red Wizards and Forge’s (Hugh Grant) possible return if he can successfully escape prison,Honor Among Thieves 2has a lot of sequel potential. That is even before considering all of the official Dungeons & Dragons lore that could be added in. Yet, Paramount continues to not announce any plans forHonor Among Thieves 2to the disappointment of fans, myself included.

New Dungeons & Dragons Setback Is So Disappointing After 91% Rotten Tomatoes Breakthrough

The Dungeons & Dragons show has hit a major setback, and that news is even more disheartening when considering one great installment of the franchise.

I’m So Disappointed Paramount Hasn’t Announced Honor Among Thieves 2 Yet

A Sequel Could Replace Paramount’s Canceled D&D Show

I am disappointed that Paramount has not announcedHonor Among Thieves 2,even though it would be a perfect replacement for its now-canceled Paramount+ series. When Paramount first announced that they were going to create a D&D series, I, like many, assumed it could feature the characters and act as an expansion of the world alongsideHonor Among Thieves 2.However, anyhopes forHonor Among Thieves 2were dashed afterParamount+ announced that they had stopped production on the series.

While this announcement was disappointing to me, what is worse is the fact thatno announcement aboutHonor Among Thieves 2has been made since. In my mind, Paramount is missing the opportunity to keep this franchise afloat by not going forward with at least this sequel. If plotting out a whole new world is too much, then at least give us more of this part of the universe and expand on these characters' stories. The potential is there to both add to and continue these storylines while also featuring some new D&D elements on the big screen.

The Dungeons & Dragons Movie Has So Much Storytelling Potential For A Sequel

Honor Among Thieves 2 Can Showcase New Monsters And Misadventures

Honor Among Thieves 2has so much storytelling potential and allows for many aspects of D&D to come into play.Honor Among Thievesleft a lot of the world unexplored. Therefore, having the group travel and meet established characters in the D&D universe would be a great way to get the worldbuilding the series could have provided. These new additions could also help them on their quest to stop the Red Wizards once and for all as they encounter new threats.

Honor Among Thieves 2could feature new monstersthat the group encounters along the way, giving them a chance to showcase their power. The first film focused a lot on the main threat and only featured a few other monsters.Including more of these monsters would not only add stakes to the story but also allow the film to feature more obscure D&D creatures. Alongside this, the film could use these encounters to add more campaign-like moments for additional comedy. All of these options could giveHonor Among Thieves 2an even bigger shot at success than it already has.

I Think Honor Among Thieves 2 Has A Better Shot At Success Than The First Film

Rotten Tomatoes Shows That There Is An Audience For A Sequel

Despite the lackluster box office performance of the first film, I thinkHonor Among Thieves 2has a great shot at success, as audiences praised the film after some initial trepidation.Honor Among Thieves’box officeresulted in the film being deemed a failure, asits worldwide gross of over $207 million surpassed its $150 million budget. However, after the initial trepidation leading up to the film’s release, audiences and critics alike largely deemed the film a success, withRotten Tomatoesciting a critic score of 91% and an audience score of 93%.

Now that the audience has seen what Paramount can do with this property, the box office will likely be higher as fans flock to what could be a great follow-up to an already solid film.

The reviews all celebrate how the first film both honored the source material and created a strong story with its original characters. Those positive reviews are just one more reason why I think this sequel has a shot at success. Now that the audience has seen what Paramount can do with this property, the box office will likely be higher as fans flock to what could be a great follow-up to an already solid film. That assurance is one more reason why Paramount’s silence onHonor Among Thieves 2is so disappointing to fans of the gaming system’s world.
