UnderstandingPath of Exile 2’s reworked skill system is crucial to succeeding in this difficult game, especially how the passive Spirit skills work. PoE 2 has been highly anticipated since its announcement due to the massive success of the original game. Though the sequel will be in an early access state where content will be slowly released, many new features have already been shown off. One such feature is the slower-paced and mechanic-focused combat that has madePoE 2feel like a soulslike.

Another of the biggest changes is howSkills work inPath of Exile 2. Instead of being equipped in armor slots with support gems linked to them, this has been moved to a separate tab. This taballows for nine different Skill gems and two to five Support gems for each one. Some Skill gems from weapons or Ascendancy classes can also appear here without taking up one of the nine slots.

How To Get More Uncut Spirit Gems

RNG And Guarantees

Luckily, there are numerous ways to acquire these powerful passive buffs. The most unreliable way is by farming Rare monsters. This option will pop up occasionally but won’t be a consistent method for getting drops. This can be supplemented by specific loot rooms and quests that will reward a one-time Support gem. However, since early access only has three acts, the only current loot room from which to acquire a gem is the Golden Tomb in Act 2.

Path Of Exile 2: Best Classes For Solo Players

The 12 available classes in Path of Exile 2 have varied abilities that make them strong, but solo players may struggle to find one that works best.

After these methods, the best way to get guaranteed Support gems is from specific boss fights. This change is a boon to lessen the grind ofPoE 2, which can sometimes feel annoying when it comes to getting all kinds of Skill gems. These will likely be expanded once more of the game is released, but they are currently limited to two. These bosses are:

How To Use Uncut Spirit Gems

Passive Power

Uncut Spirit gems activate them and pull up a list of Spirit skills. It is best to stick to skills for your selected class, but nothing stops you from choosing one from another class’s skills. Once selected, it can be slotted in the Skill tab and turned on.To keep a Spirit gem running will consume a set amount of the character’s Spirit. This isn’t a huge price to pay, but it can be tricky with some classes like Witch that use Spirit to raise minions.

Spirit can be increased in multiple ways to help with varying builds. The only permanent way is by defeating certain bosses spread throughout the map. So far, there are only two bosses that reward Spirit increases, and those are the King of The Mists and Bog Witch. Though this method is currently limited, the bright spot is that most classes do not need a high Spirit cap.

The other way to increase Spirit is through items limited to Scepters and specific Amulets. The former is due to them being crucial for Witch minion builds, so it increases Spirit to levels it doesn’t need to go for other classes. Amulets are a nice top-off if you want multiple Spirit skills or a further boost for minion builds.

The base minion spell on Scepters will not consume any Spirit but summons fewer minions.

Spirit skills are a key part of having a proper build inPoE 2with all its differences fromPoE. They can be a significant way of staying alive or a crucial part of a character’s overall damage. Stacking them is a fantastic boon and takes these passive buffs up a level from if they were limited. It will be interesting to see what other Spirit skills or changes come during the early access, but this is how to get and use more Spirit gems inPath of Exile 2.
