Stardew Valleyplayers who find themselves pining for the owner of The Oasis finally have an opportunity to romance Sandy. Pelican Town may already be filled with eligible singles who make fine spouses but theStardew Valleycommunity is often drawn to those characters who can’t be wooed. While developer ConcernedApe insists that certain favorites like Krobus won’t ever be romanceable, the modding community is usually quick to deliver some excellent add-ons that further open up the dating pool.
Posted to Nexus Mods by creatorNature, the “Roses in the Sand” mod fully remakes Sandy, one of the few residents of Calico Desert, as a romanceable NPCwith “hundreds of lines of dialogue” and seven new heart events. The mod further fleshes out Sandy’s character, giving her an extensive background. Beyond the heart events, the add-on also grants The Oasis owner more outfits, a new musical theme, and additional emotions to help better express herself.

Settling Down With Sandy In Stardew Valley
Finding Love In The Calico Desert
While the “Roses in the Sand” mod is certainly great news for those players who want to marry Sandy, the creator insists it hasn’t been built with that sole purpose in mind. With the additional dialogue, schedule, and heart events, the mod aims to make Sandy feel more connected to theStardew Valleyexperience rather than a side-lined extra who largely keeps to herself. Sandy’s new story better grounds her in the world of Pelican Town and touches on some mature themes, but Nature reassures players the heart events are more focused on humor and romance.
Sandy has always been somewhat of an enigma inStardew Valleyas the vanilla game doesn’t go too in-depth with her characterization.Players aren’t even aware of her real namebut she is shown to have some connections with theother members of Pelican Town. On Fall 15, Sandy’s birthday, she closes The Oasis early andwalks around the desertwith Emily, suggesting that the two are at least friends.

Stardew Valley Is Already Filled With Romance
But A Little Love For Sandy Is Certainly Welcome
I’ve never really paid too much attention to Sandy butI still appreciate the added flavor of “Roses in the Sand.“It’s a robust mod that includes far more content than one might expect, which is great news for those who have found themselveswondering about The Oasis' aloof owner. Just be sure not to give her holly on her birthday otherwise itcould be an unhappy marriage.
