After that, she lived with Thor (Devan Chandler Long), Isaac, and Sasappis (Román Zaragoza) on the property that would eventually become the Woodstone Country Estate. Still, it becomes clear that the distance between Sam and her father pains her when Jay chimes in, listing off times when Frank wasn’t there for her.

Sam tells Patience there is"nothing she can do"about her father sharing a bedroom with his girlfriend,but the Puritan ghost quickly shows Sam how wrong she is. In her fury, Patience reveals that her ghost power is that she can make the walls bleed. The Protestant ghost furrows her brow and looks upward as she raises her hands to the side, and the walls drip with blood.

The extent of Patience’s ghost powers is unclear. She can make the walls bleed and write in blood. Patience may be able to make other objects bleed, although she has only applied this to walls thus far.

Patience’s ghost power is probably tied to the cause of her death. Patience revealed to Isaac in theGhostsseason 4 premiere that she died of bloodletting. With Sam’s dad around, it’s apparent she has some unresolved issues with her dad, to whichPete (Richie Moriarty) lends a solution. Initially, Pete is optimistic about Sam’s relationship with her dad, saying that Frank’s visit will be a joyous moment for the father and daughter. However, Pete suggests that Sam should call him"daddy"as an alternative if things don’t work out. Pete makes the suggestion no less than three times throughout episode 2.

The Ghosts Are Navigating Breakups

InGhostsseason 4, episode 2, Thor, Flower, and Isaac are in a similar situation. After their breakup,Isaac can’t bring himself to ask Nigel (John Hartman) to move outof the Woodstone Mansion. Thor and Flower relate because they struggle to tell Nancy they broke up with her, not wanting to hurt her feelings. Listening to the conversation play out, Trevor (Asher Godman) suggests that they take care of each other’s problems.

After Frank and Diane find the wall dripping in blood with the word"SIN"written in capital letters, the couple decide to pack up and leave. Sam can’t adequately explain herself, not wanting to tell her dad about the ghosts, and she is hurt to see her dad go. While Frank’s reaction is understandable given the circumstances, Sam calls him out for walking out of her life again, and it causes the absent father to stop and reflect on his relationship with his daughter.

Reflecting on the situation with his girlfriend as they gather their things, Frank admits that he wasn’t around much but reveals to Diane that he had a good reason. Franks tells Diane that Sam’s mom, Sheryl (Rachael Harris), told him in"no uncertain terms"that she didn’t want her ex-husband in Sam’s life.After Pete, Sass, and Patience overhear Frank’s side of the story, they tell Sam how her father feels, revealing what her father can’t find the words to say.

Despite it not being her fault, Sam catches Frank as he’s packing the car to leave and apologizes for writing with blood on the wall. Still, Sam’s apology is genuine. She likens"writing sin in a blood-like substance on the wall"to when she cut her dad’s girlfriend’s hair when she was little.Sam admits to her dad that she was acting out because she was mad at him, but she couldn’t find the words to tell him that.

After Sam and Frank reconcile, Sasappis tells Patience that they"got married in the car"to keep her from creating another scene. Unclear of what modern marriage ceremonies look like, Patience believes him.

Since Flower and Thor think it’s too harsh to evict Nigel on Isaac’s behalf despite their pact, Isaac has to have the conversation himself. When Isaac tells Nigel that he thinks they shouldn’t live in the same house anymore, the British soldier understands but laments that he will miss his new friends. When Isaac sees how much the transition will pain his former fiancée,Isaac declares that he will move to the shed so that Nigel can stay at the mansion.

Jenkins and Baxter, the other shed ghosts, request that Nigel take Isaac’s place in the shed.
