Maisie Williams is potentially reuniting with theGame of Thronescreator. Williams spent nearly a decade as Arya Stark on a show that brought in nearly 14 million viewers at its height. While Arya Stark sailed to the West of Westeros at the end of the series, it was not the end of the universe as a whole. There are several more shows in development, including theKnight of the Seven Kingdomsspin-off,Aegon’s Conquest, andHouse of the Dragonseason 3. Williams could be joining the next production.

In a post on his personalNot a Blogwebsite, author George R. R. Martin hinted at a reunion with Williams. While explaining his visit to London in August, he described meeting with her for a meal. He did not share what the pair discussed, but he mentioned that he does believe it may potentially result in something that “could be so much fun”. Check out his full quote below:

We also got together with Maisie Williams for pizza and pasta, and talked about… well, no, better not get into that,do not want to jinx it. But it could be so much fun.

What George R. R. Martin’s Comments Could Mean

It is only natural for Williams to return to the franchise. After all, she was raised on the show, having been just 12 years old when she began filming. Since it ended, she has been struggling to maintain a role in the industry. She has taken roles in just a few productions, but the most prominent was the failed and endlessly delayedThe New Mutantsmovie, which earned just $49 million, despite a $67 million budget. A return to Westeros could very well help Williams to reignite her career, which would be beneficial for everyone involved.

Game of Throneswas Williams' first official acting role.

As anticipated as a new spin-off would be, however, it is not the only potential option.Martin is working on several potential shows and movies, and they do not all relate to hisGame of Thronesfranchise. He is an executive producer forDark Windsand his vampire story,In the Lost Lands, is being adapted into a 2025 movie. He had had a long career as a writer, and he could easily be tapping William for another one of his adaptations. Since he has familiarity with her acting style, that would be a natural decision.

Our Take On George R. R. Martin’s New Project

An Arya Stark Show Would Be A Long-Awaited Sequel

Because HBO has been exploring many potential spin-offs, an Arya spin-off is a possibility. She was a popular character, and her story left ample room to explore more of Westeros. It would provide a simple opportunity to help fixthe failures of season 8without spending too much time stymied by the deaths of Daenerys or the Night King. On her ship, Arya would be far removed from the general politics, as she often was during the show. Even if it is not the only option, an AryaGame of Thronesspin-off would certainly make sense, if Williams agrees.
