Warning: There are spoilers ahead for From season 3, episode 10, “Revelations: Chapter Two.”
TheFromseason 3 finale confirmed a dark truth behind the pregnancy of Fatima (Pegah Ghafoori). One ofFromseason 3’s biggest mysterieswas about what was growing inside of Fatima. In her life before becoming trapped in the Town, Fatima learned that she was unable to have children. Discovering that she was somehow pregnant inFromseason 2 could have been a positive miracle, but instead became something far more sinister and destructive.

The baby’s appetite for rotten vegetables and human blood did not bode well, nor did the unbearable pain Fatima was experiencing. The unnatural pregnancy further escalated when Tillie (Deborah Grover) tragically lost her life inFromseason 3, episode 7when she tried to help Fatima. Whilethere were many theories about what was actually happening to Fatima, the truth revealed in theFromseason 3 endingwas a particularly twisted and terrifying answer.
Fatima’s Baby Was The Resurrected Smiley
When Elgin (Nathan D. Simmons) revealed inFromseason 3, episode 8’s endingthat the baby was not Fatima’s, this made it seem more likely than ever that a monster was growing inside her. Since Boyd Stevens (Harold Perrineau) killed the monster known as Smiley (Jamie McGuire) inFromseason 2, episode 6, there was speculation that Fatima’s baby would be a new monster that would replenish their numbers. This theory mostly came to fruition with Fatima’s baby being a resurrected Smiley.
From Season 3 Confirms A Harsh Reality About The Monsters After Boyd Finally Killed One
Boyd Stevens and the other From residents will have to accept a harsh reality after one of the most shocking reveals in the season 3 finale.
The only difference is thatFatima did not give birth to a new monster and instead rebirthed a monster who previously existed. Another monster did not need to replace Smiley – the monsters just needed to wait for Smiley to be reborn in order to reach their full equilibrium again. In some ways, this was even worse than Fatima giving birth to a new monster. Smiley’s revival proved that Boyd killing him was little more than a temporary setback and not the breakthrough it seemed to be.

Fatima’s Pregnancy Is A Huge Warning For From’s Characters To Not Kill The Monsters Again
Smiley’s resurrection made the monsters seem even more formidable and showed the consequences of them being murdered. IfFrom’s characterskilled another monster, this would seeminglyforce Fatima or another resident to endure a similarly terrifying and agonizing pregnancy. The residents already have to worry about the monsters on the outside and cannot handle another monster being reborn inside of them and wreaking havoc on their community.
Saving the children is more likely to defeat the monsters, as killing will just lead to the monsters being reborn again inFrom’s future seasons.

Since killing the monsters is clearly ineffective and comes with disastrous consequences, the residents need to find another solution to protect themselves. Tabitha Matthews (Catalana Sandino Moreno) and Jade Herrera (David Alpay) learning the truth about their struggle to save the children and set them free seems like a more viable path forward. Saving the children is more likely to defeat the monsters, as killing will just lead to the monsters being reborn again inFrom’s future seasons.
