Five tips that will boost your Hearthstone Collection and be prepared for the next Voyage to the Sunken City expansion
Today we are going to talk about your Hearthstone collection and the most common mistakes that players make. We are about to begin our Voyage to the Sunken City and three sets rotating out of standard, so you’d better be prepared. In this guide, we will talk about how to manage your Hearthstone collection to get the most out of the game. Free-to-play players welcome.
Mistake #5 - Don’t take advantage of Value Offers
Before you say Hearthstone is a Pay-to-win game, first listen. Yes, there are advantages for players that spend money in-game. The main one is that spending players will have it easier to have a nourishedHearthstone cardcollection.
The most obvious tip I could give you is that if you are a fan, and enjoy playing the game, get a pre-order if you can afford it. This is one of the most efficient ways of having a complete Hearthstone collection.
Before I get memed with the old “Best card? Credit Card”, I have to tell you, there are some very good offers that can be bought with in-game gold! A clear example of this is the Mini-Sets, where for 2000 gold coins you get up to 4 legendaries. Under normal circumstances, it would take you 80 packs to open that amount of legendaries on average. So, that is why this seems like a pretty good deal to have a completeHearthstone cardcollection.
Mistake #4: Don’t leave quests behind
Hearthstone allows players to earn many resources to enrichen their collection just by playing. The most reliable sources of gold income are Daily and Weekly quests since they help you make progress on your Rewards Track.
It might not seem like a big deal, but once you add up all the benefits you can rip off the Rewards Track, you will realize the importance of Quests. You can have up to three Daily quests at the same time and three Weekly Quests on top of that. The Weekly Quests resets every Sunday, so check your log to make sure you don’t miss any.
You will need to put some time into the game, but it is worth it in my opinion. Some advice would be to re-roll any low-value quests or the ones that don’t appeal to your game mode. If you are not aHearthstone Battlegroundsplayer, re-roll those Weekly quests, and don’t let that hurt your collection.
Mistake #3: Don’t rush to craft Hearthstone cards or decks, it can ruin your collection
This piece of advice appeals more to budget players than to whales. If you are not spending a lot of money on the game, you need to be careful when using your Arcane Dust if you want to have a competitive Hearthstone Collection.
What do I mean by this? You should not craft expensive cards if the meta is not settled. What might seem a good deck on day 1 of the expansion could be just a “bait” and you will be spending your valuable resources on them.
This mistake can cost you a lot. If you want to disenchant a card from your collection, Hearthstone will only give you back 25% of the Arcane Dust you need to craft a card from the same rarity. There is no way to play the Hearthstone market to boost your collection here. Or is it?

Mistake #2 that hurts your Hearthstone Collection: Don’t EVER Mass Disenchant
This is one of the first things I’ve learned and was thanks to master Kripp. He showed me the way with his Arcane Dust hoarding policy. What am I talking about? Well, while you might feel tempted to press Hearthstone’s Mass Disenchant button, this can cripple your collection.
Why this is a mistake? When you Mass Disenchant, Hearthstone gets rid of all the extra copies from your collection. If instead, you disenchant cards manually from your collection whenever you need the dust, you can get a lot more Arcane Dust after Hearthstone’s nerfs.
This is possible because, whenHearthstone nerfsa card, it allows players to get a full dust refund for it. So, while it might sound tempting to cash in that lump sum of Arcane Dust if you wanna do things the right way to protect your Hearthstone Collection.
So, if you are a patient player, you will find yourself with a lot of extra dust after each balance patch. This way, you will be able to have a competitive collection and play any Hearthstone meta-deck you want!
Mistake #1: Ignoring Pity Timers when buying packs
Pity whaaat? Although this is not strictly a secret, not manyHearthstone players know about Pity Timersand the huge impact they can have on their card collection. Pity Timers are the way Blizzard guarantees that you are getting a Legendary after opening 40 packs or an epic after 10.
So what does this have to do with your Hearthstone collection? Well, if you track how many packs you need to get a guaranteed legendary before crafting it, you might be able to save all that Arcane Dust.
While players get 1 Legendary Card on average per 20 packs and 1 Epic card on average per 5 packs, averages are just that. So Blizzard implemented this rule to prevent players to be super unlucky. Every time you hit a card of that rarety, the Pity Timer resets to 0 for that kind of card.
Two more things you need to know about this. First, each set of cards has its own Pity Timer, so verify you don’t get confused. Moreover, and this is a good one, players are guaranteed toopen a legendary in the first 10 packs of each set. This works retroactively, so if you are new and never bought Forged in the Barrens packs, a legendary card will be waiting for you in the first 10.

Furthermore, you can even min-max your Quests experience rewards so you rip offVoyage to the Sunken City’s packs right away. If you save your quest and do them on April 12th after the launch, all that experience will go towards the new rewards track, giving you a headstart.
On a final note, you’re able to also check for achievements that grant experience and claim them. Most of the time it is not worth pursuing achievements just for the exp they give, but it can be a nice extra prize.
