Netflix is preparing for the fourth season ofThe Witcher, which is facing the biggest challenges the show has come across so far, but on the brighter side, it’s a new opportunity for more witchers to appear alongside Geralt of Rivia (Liam Hemsworth). The Witcherfound great success on Netflix during its first season, but the second season was quite controversial due to the many changes it made to the source material. The Witcherseason 2 also introduced new witchers, but these were only minor characters.
The other witchers didn’t return in season 3 and, instead, it focused on the family bond between Geralt, Yennefer (Anya Chalotra), and Ciri (Freya Allan). The Witcherseason 3 was also Henry Cavill’s goodbye as he left the show, withLiam Hemsworth being cast as the new Geralt. Season 4 will be Hemsworth’s debut as well as that of the new Vesemir, and it’s set to cover some of the books’ darkest storylines thanks to season 3. However,The Witcherseason 4is also a new opportunity for more witchers to appear, and all of them have already been introduced.

5Geralt of Rivia
Geralt of Rivia Is Played By Chris Hemsworth
Of course, the main witcher in the series is and will continue to be Geralt of Rivia. The Witcherseason 3 was key to Geralt’s story, especially with Yennefer and Ciri, as they finally became the family that readers and players of the video games are familiar with. However, the Thanedd Coupforced them to part ways for their safety, with Ciri ending up in the Korath desert, Yennefer teaming up with the surviving sorceresses, and Geralt recovering in Brokilon after being injured in a fight with Vilgefortz.
Giving Up On The Witcher After Henry Cavill’s Exit? Here’s What Happens To Geralt
The Witcher season 3 is Henry Cavill’s final season as Geralt of Rivia, but there are still many things the series has to cover in Geralt’s story.
At theend ofThe Witcherseason 3, Geralt left Brokilon with Jaskier (Joey Batey) and Milva (Meng’er Zhang) to find and rescue Ciri, who was kidnapped but later rescued and taken in by the Rats. As the title character,Geralt will continue to be the main character in seasons 4 and 5, but it’s to be seen if he will get a tragic or happy ending with Yennefer and Ciri.

4Vesemir
Vesemir Was Played By Kim Bodnia In Season 2
An important witcher in the extensive world of Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels, ashe’s Geralt’s mentor and father figure, is Vesemir. Vesemir was trained in Kaer Morhen, and he was the only witcher who survived the attack on the school, after which he reunited with the children who escaped: Remus, Lambert, Eskel, and Geralt. Vesemir trained them and became their father figure, as well as a very respected witcher on the Continent.
Vesemir is the main character in the animated movieNightmare of the Wolf, which explores his origins.

Vesemir made his debut in season 2 of Netflix’sThe Witcherwhen Geralt arrived at Kaer Morhen with Ciri. Vesemir became interested in Ciri after learning she has Elder blood, a key component of the witcher mutagen to create more witchers. Unfortunately, the vial with the mutagen was stolen by Rience, and Vesemir later joined Geralt and the rest of the witchers at Kaer Morhen in a battle against the Voleth Meir. Vesemir will be played by a different actor inThe Witcherseason 4, and it’s unknown where his story will now lead.
3Lambert
Lambert Is Played By Paul Bullion
As mentioned above, Lambert is one of the children who successfully escaped Kaer Morhen when it was attacked and was later trained by Vesemir. Lambert is like a brother to Geralt, and though he looks tough and is known for his impatience and attitude, he gets along pretty well with his witcher brothers. Like Vesemir, Lambert made his first appearance in season 2 ofThe Witcher, where he took his frustration and pain over Eskel’s death out on Ciri, leading her to practice on the Pendulum, a dangerous obstacle course that knocked Ciri on her back more than once.
Why Lambert Looks So Different In Witcher Season 2
Netflix shared the first look at The Witcher season 2, and fans quickly pointed out how different Lambert looks. Here’s what happened.
Impressed by Ciri’s courage and determination on the Pendulum,Lambert helped her train in combat. After Ciri, under the Voleth Meir’s control, murdered many of the other witchers in Kaer Morhen, Lambert and Coën went after her, and joined the rest in battling the Voleth Meir and defending Kaer Morhen.

2Coën
Coën Is Played By Yasen Atour
Coën is one of the youngest witchers in Kaer Morhen, and as such, it’s unclear when he arrived and joined the rest – but just like Lambert, Geralt, and Eskel, he was trained by Vesemir. Coën is very close to Lambert, and together they often pull pranks on the other witchers. Coën was present during Ciri’s many attempts to get through the Pendulum and was impressed by her determination, leading him to agree to help train the young Princess.
Along with Lambert, he went after Ciri after she murdered the other witchers while under the Voleth Meir’s control and confronted the Deathless Mother when she was unleashed in Kaer Morhen. If Lambert returns inThe Witcherseason 4, it’s expected that Coën will be back too, and hopefully, the show will expand his story a lot more.
1Eskel
Eskel Was Played By Basil Eidenbenz
Eskel was one of Geralt’s closest friendsand a witcher trained by Vesemir. Eskel also made his debut in season 2 ofThe Witcher, where he arrived at Kaer Morhen after fighting a leshy, and had a couple of injuries. However, Eskel was acting strangely, being rude towards Ciri and even Geralt, which was unlike his joyous nature. It was later revealed that Eskel had been infected by the leshy, and he began to transform into one, putting everyone in Kaer Morhen in great danger.Realizing there was no cure for Eskel, Geralt killed his brother.
Eskel didn’t last long inThe Witcherseason 2 and his story from the books and bond with Geralt were wasted. However,The Witcherhas used flashbacks before, so Eskel could return in season 4 through these, exploring his story with Geralt and Vesemir and doing justice to the character after his death.
The Witcher
The Witcher, released in 2019, follows Geralt of Rivia, a mutated monster hunter navigating a turbulent world where humanity’s darker nature often eclipses the monstrous.
