WARNING! This article contains SPOILERS for From season 3, episode 7!The visions that Elgin has been having of the Kimono Woman have intensified throughoutFromseason 3, and they may be leading to a deeper revelation about a mystery introduced back in season 1. Toward theend ofFromseason 2,Elgin began to be plagued by visions of a dripping wet skeletal ghost wearing a kimono, including one terrifying moment in which she nearly drowned him in a bathtub. Very little has subsequently been revealed about the Kimono Woman throughoutFromseason 3, but that seems likely to change now that she’s asking Elgin to “help” her.
So far, the Kimono Woman has only appeared in two locations: the Colony House and the root cellar. The Colony House was where Elgin first spotted her and continued to have visions of the ghost. In contrast, the root cellar has a history of being a place where ghosts and supernatural entities – such as the music box’s ballerina and thedead bodies Elgin and Jade saw– seem to have a more general connection. TheColony House seemingly has a deeper connection to the Kimono Woman’s history, and her ghostly appearance may indicate a dark link to a mysterious nearby location.

The Kimono Woman’s Hinted Death By Drowning Could Reveal The Dark History Of The Brundles
Did The Kimono Woman Die In The Brundles By The Colony House?
TheKimono Woman inFromtypically has a wet-looking appearance when Elgin sees her, which suggests that she may have died by drowning. When she held Elgin underwater in the bathtub, she may have been showing him how she died in this town. If so, then it’s likely that she died by drowning in the Brundles, the lake near the Colony House. That would explain why her ghost appears to Elgin in the Colony House close by, as her spirit may have been stuck there after meeting a tragic fate in the water.
From Season 3 Teases The Show Is Finally Solving A Forgotten Jade Mystery From 2 Years Ago
Elgin’s new discovery in the root cellar in From season 3, episode 7 hints that the show may finally solve a mystery related to Jade from season 1.
Fatima originally took Julie to the Brundles inFromseason 1, and later discussed the location with Elgin in season 2 after he revealed that he saw it in a vision. Fatima told Elgin that she’s not sure why the small lake is called the Brundles, as it had always been called that before she even arrived. If the Kimono Woman really did drown there, thenElgin’s visions of her could finally reveal the history of the lake and the origins of the Brundles’ name.

Elgin’s Dream On The Bus Makes The Kimono Woman & Brundles Connection More Likely
Elgin’s Major Visions Are Likely Connected In From
As the show has often reiterated, the visions that appear toFrom’s main charactersaren’t by accident.Elgin revealed in season 2 that he had seen the Brundles in a vision, so it’s hard to believe that this body of water isn’t connected to his visions of the Kimono Woman who tried to drown him. Similar to thechildren calling Tabitha Matthews toFrom’s townto save them from the tower, the Kimono Woman may have called Elgin to town to help save her trapped spirit.
The Brundles and the lake by the settlement are two of the only known bodies of water inFrom’s town.

The Brundles likely has a deeper dark history inFrom’s past that connects to various other mysteries, and the Kimono Woman seems to be the most likely way to potentially unite these threads. There have been various theories that a flood wiped out much of the townat some point in the location’s history, which some have used toexplainFrom’s missing motel. It’s possible that this theorized flood created Brundles inFrom, with the Kimono Woman’s spirit being trapped in the waters below.
