Ortega is a hero in his own right and the one who attempted to slay the archfiend Baramos before the game’s protagonist, and while he did appear a few times during the original version of the game - with the intro of the NES and Game Boy versions of the game showing his battle atop a volcano - he wasn’t playable, making these new segments in the remake even more of a welcome surprise for players.

AlthoughDragon Quest III HD-2D Remakehas been referred to as “a stunning reimagining of the beloved masterpiece,” rather than drastically changing the story,these seem to be additions that expand upon the game that players are already familiar with.The announcement also came with screenshots that provided a further look at locations such as Ibis, a kingdom surrounded by miles of desert, that has been brought to stunning new life by the remake’s vibrant HD-2D graphics.
Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remakelaunches on Nov. 14, with pre-orders available now for both the Standard physical or digital editions andthe Collector’s Editionon all available platforms.
